I am a fart snob.  I want it all- sound AND smell - especially when I'm alone.  I don't care how foul my farts get, they’re never foul enough for me.

I have many fart stories but respect farts so much I think more than one story at a time is disrespectful. Each fart stands alone. I remember one in particular when I was driving cab in L.A. I was working the day shift out of Hollywood. My name’s Thomas Joseph. My partner is myself. I was dispatched to Little Tokyo, about 5 miles away when I cut a wicked fart..  

I was not overly concerned. Not only did I have 5 miles to go, most of it was freeway, high speed, windows all the way down, lots of air flow. There was some street driving too. I figure a good 10 minutes elapsed from the time I cut the fart to the time
I arrived for the pickup. More than enough time to clear it out.

The back door opens and a tiny Japanese women gets in and tells me where she wants to go. Then, in a strong Japanese accent, she says with great flair, "This cab, it stink!" I cringed. But I had a good excuse. I was driving for a company, usually a different cab every day. Maybe this cab stunk before I got in and I didn’t noticed it right away.  I don't know. Like farts themselves it’s been a mystery ever since........

More actual real life fart stories will follow. I am old enough to have amassed a good amount. My hope is to post at least one fart story per day. Many are from the distant past and have ripened like fine wine. I can smell them still. I remember all my farts, logged in my brain without effort. Do you remember yours, all of them? I doubt it. Few are on my level when it comes to farts. But this ain't no competition, it's a friendly announcement that I soon plan to make history by publishing the history of my farts.

I knew a few guys whose favorite show was hawaii five o. I never gave it a chance. I think it was a forerunner to CSI Miami because I seem to remember Jack Lord showing up mostly at the most dramatic moments. They did that with Caruso in Miami CSI. It was actually a treat to see him at the end. He popped up only when it really counted. Not sure if it was the same for Lord, but I think it had a similar element. Anyway, I knew guys who liked that show but I was not one of them because at that time I was not a big TV watcher. Oh, I'd have it on for special events and an occasional movie but didn't really get into sitcoms and episodic shows until later in life. I liked some as a kid, like the Fugitive, the finale of which I still to this day have not seen. Even though I watched the Fugitive weekly at some point in my teen years I faded away from the TV because I had other stuff to do, like sniff glue and party down with fellow dead beats. I do know there's a new Hawaii Five O and it sucks. Same with Macgyver. I scope out the network shit as it comes along. I don't like the vast majority of it and I don't care. I can live without it. All of it. I can live without life.. Can't I?

Discounting the early years when hormones raged and every woman on earth including Hazel and Our Miss Brooks on TV looked good I have to say that, discounting those early years, belly dancers never did it for me. Something very repetitive about it. Strippers, same thing. I guess a lot of it was the skirt the law, calling it a dance club instead of a strip club or whatever. I don't like the combination. Lord had a look about him. Maybe it was because I don't remember seeing him in a lot of other stuff, although I'm sure he did his share. Whenever I google up a celebrity I always use Wikipedia. I like their format. First a bit of info about the celeb - date and place of birth, etc. Then below there are categories listed. Filmography is one. TV work is also displayed. It is incredible some of the work some guys got in their careers. The TV guys, mostly character actor types - incredible how much they worked. I really enjoy playing detective with the google bar. I think I saw him in a movie where he played a hit man or some kind of gangster. He fit that role. So seeing him in 5-0 is weird. Like the guy is nutso. And there wasn't any surfing in the show either but they showed that big gnarly wave in the beginning. It was bait and switch.

He admitted to me once that they purposely aimed their ads at mostly surfers because they knew they are in general a rather gullible crowd. "Let's wave them in", was the expression the ad boys used for the opening. They got you, didn't they surfer boy? But they didn't get me. I didn't get stuck in their pipe line, man. I didn't catch their wave. I ride my own waves. I am a true individualist.

I can't say I didn't like it because I never really watched it. But I'd say odds are heavy in favor of me not liking it for a variety of reasons, chiefly not liking cop shows to begin with. Plus it was an hour. It was on a number of times with me there, at the poolroom and at people's places. Some guys loved it. I never got into. I'm glad. Maybe one day it'll hit MeTv if it hasn't already and then in a totally relaxed unforced manner I will be able to abzzzzorb the presentation and render an honest Thomas Joseph style critique of the iconic show.

I was watching 77 sunset strips on youtube than I could get to any more episodes. It wasn't great but I was getting a boner from Frenchie and that other one Kookie.

As a kid I liked it. When it came on MeTv a few years back I thought it was one of the worst shows on their schedule. But I grew to like it. Watching it I realized why I liked it in the first place. It was cool. Sure, people got shot now and then, but it was pretty much done for laughs. I think I told you before, I think that show had some impact on my desire to move West. The entire detective agency, no one looked like they were working. Even the French secretary never looked like she was working. They all looked like they were having fun. That was the way I wanted to perceive all jobs. I'm not saying I really believed things were that easy and carefree - but I wanted to believe it. The late nite MeTV lineup has not changed in some time. Mannix, Cannon, Barnaby Jones - the Zone, Hitchcock, etc. But they took 77 Sunset Strip off about a year ago, not long after I decided I actually liked it. Coincidence? I think not. I think they read my mind, find out what I like the most, then remove it from the schedule. They took "77" of the schedule for Barnaby Jones, which I have also found easier to take. But there were things about 77 Sunset Strip I liked the second time around, not just when I was a kid.

It was sunshine and convertibles and all play and no work. Money was no object. The show branched out a few times - maybe in the beginning, maybe toward the end of the series. They had a few episodes where it was Efram Zimbalist J. on his own, sometimes in foreign lands. I was not in love with those, but watched them. It was one of those something for everyone shows (except for Negroes), where just about every age was targeted with Kookie representing the young hip crowd and so forth. Good or bad I still have more respect for some TV shows than I do for the movies in general. Yes, the show was a good commercial for L.A. It sold me. But I wanted to be sold. Maybe everyone who is sold wants it. Yes, that's it. Let the motha fucking buyer beware.

Yeah, I guess that wave the most non-shitty part of the show. Honolulu is a big city. It's not easy to image tropic island poverty and violence, I suppose. It doesn't mesh with the clear blue sea and the sunny skies. I have never been to Hawaii. I know some of the natives don't like us and I don't blame them. I been to Hawaii and I felt the natives did not like whitey. Also went to Tahiti and felt that way again. Actually the women were nice, it was the men who seemed hostile. Same old story I guess. If the worse thing about being part of the super race is some brown people hating you that is a small price to pay.

Ok, I'll go with whitey as the super race, but will not commit to it until at least half the white population has been eliminated - the right half, the one that's got to go. Just because they're white doesn't put us in the same boat. Does it? I guess Hawaii is sort of a reverse slavery thing where instead of bringing the slaves to your country, you overtake the country and call it a state or some kind of territory. I don't blame those people for hating whitey. The main thing I don't like about any of the lesser races of whatever color is the way they think just being a minority means they themselves are not prejudiced or narrow minded when of course we know that is not the case. That's what I hate about all the victims. Like that female driver with her 10 year old kid in the back seat giving some guys the finger. She is now a victim along with her entire family. The kid was a saint. They all loved him. He was all they cared about, especially the mother. She really loved her kid. But not enough to consider the kid's safety when she shot the finger at those two guys who shot into her car and killed the kid. She's a hero for being a victim. She has a chance - and she won't take it - to do something really good, like go on national TV to encourage other women her age to think twice about giving the finger to total strangers, especially with you kid in the car. The article I read was more extensive, not with information but with suggestions. The article was trying to make the woman look good. The article I read, the way the 'reporter' used the expression, "hand gesture" in a very soft toned way, playing it down. Of course they didn't have to mention it at all, I suppose. I can't find that exact article. Plus I already told the story. But yes, it happened on the Orange County Freeway - 55 - one of the ugliest freeways in all of L.A. I know because I drove it twice a day for months working for the Courier Express delivery company. All the way from Echo Park near downtown to the John Wayne airport and back twice a day with a ton of stops in between. I remember that highway. If a road rage shooting is going to happen that would be the spot. Ugly guardrails, a feeling of being pinned in, not very scenic, at least the parts I drove. Anyone who drives that road today - not back when I did it, but now - deserves to die.
