I see it coming. Official word came down from the top last week - the mask is not longer required. I resented the mask from the start but they made me wear it. At first I challenged it. Then I found it easier to just give in and forego the arguments. I became accustomed to the mask. Now they're telling me to take it off. No orders yet but the vibe is there.

I have learned on thing from the mask - that the Nazi exists in a lot of people. I remember when this shit first started a lot of mask wearing public workers would admit to me that they hated and resented it. Some of them went on to become the fiercest mask policy enforcers around. Not all enjoyed it, they had to do it because of their jobs - but I could tell some did enjoy the opportunity to shout orders and boss people around. Now today out and about wearing a mask downtown I encountered two different workers at the register who looked at me and said, "You know you don't have to wear that mask anymore!", in such a way as to imply that I am out of line for wearing it. If someone were to say, "By the way, did you hear about the new mask policy? You don't have to wear it anymore", I could understand that the person is just trying to be helpful. But that's not the way they say it. They say it with the same authoritative tone they used when demanding the mask be worn. "Put on your mask", has become, "Take off your mask", or face the consequences. Anyway, no big deal - I can live with it either way - jut noting how it's just as easy today to build an army of Nazis as in the past, maybe easier with people volunteering to enforce even laws whether they agree with them or not. I have a confession to make. I kind of enjoy wearing the mask now with most people not wearing theirs now. It happened fast, literally within days of the official mask mandate rescinding. Funny stuff.

I saw an article on it mentioning lots of people falsely claiming to be vaccinated so they can remove their masks. I met many people over the last year who said, "Man I can't wait till we don't have to wear these masks anymore." I knew they were the ones least likely to wear the mask properly. Always down around the chin or hanging from the neck - complying with the rules but bending them - similar to assholes with workplace dress codes - wearing suit coats and ties, etc., but smelling like shit. All image. All of a sudden the virus is gone. Everyone can get back to normal - hugging at funerals, getting drunk and spitting into each other's faces on crowded bar stools, then at closing time gathering outside hugging and kissing each other while loudly exclaiming, "Love you!", to everyone in sight. I believe if the virus is real it will return. Also I believe there are others on the horizon. Man made style.

I don't know if I'll be around to see it but I think it won't be long before people are tested once again. I don't see this virus going away. Oh maybe this exact one, but others are on the way. I read in yesterday's paper about a town in Poland where the Mayor set forth a vac mandate and the people went nuts, showing up on the lawn of his residence shouting slogans. The Mayor later amended the ruling. Good. If they can resist it there it can be done here too. I know there are some who favor mandatory vaccination. I do not wish death on people who get the vaccine but I do wish it on those who get it and want it mandatory for everybody. Yes, without a doubt I do wish death on those people, I can't deny it. COVID is one of those things I'm never going to believe no matter who says it or how. I might believe sensible suggestions such as, "Stay away from other people", or, "Wash your hands frequently", but not much else. How much do we need to know? I am totally skeptical of COVID and was from the start. But I have no direct conspiracy theories. Even if I did I wouldn't force them on anyone. I hate when people do that to me, unless it's entertaining or interesting in some way. "I don't trust is" should always be good enough. We shouldn't need to explain way. Being skeptical is good. If the reports are true that over half have been vaccinated - and how to we know they are true? - then it seems there's lot of non skeptical people out there. I am not concerned that they are going to pump me full of poison or some kind of mind controlling substance, that kind of shit - also not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying I don't like the people behind it. The same people who pump out one pharmaceutical TV ad after another are involved in this shit. I do not trust the medical industry. It's insane. I am not Mr. Back to Nature, not by a long shot. I am not heavy into saving the planet. I am not against taking drugs recreationally or otherwise. But as long as I can I would like to stay away from meds that must be taken every day to become a part of my body. It seems today there are vaccines for everything. I know what you mean about the different companies and the different vaccines, it is indeed nuts. Anyway, even though I am not Mr. Back to Nature I do tend to think that lots of stuff we put in our bodies can contribute to other bad stuff down the road. Depending on the degree of crippleness I can see it as an advantage depending on where one is at in life at the time. For some it could be a way out of poverty. Get that government check and build up your arm muscles at the same time wheeling that chair around. Sure, paralysis and other ugly forms of forced idleness are not worth any kind of trade. But whatever the minimum is for official wheelchair clearance, I can see times in my life when I'd have made the trade. I'm talking about someone who can walk but it's a bit painful and tiring, so they use the wheelchair - they are not entirely bound to it. I could go for that under the right circumstances. Being paralyzed and shitting without knowing it all the time - I'm sure that is a depressing thing. Not only because of the mess and potential for bacterial invasion but also because of the way your so-called friends don't come around anymore because of your festering stench.

If most people had what I"m living with they'd be going to doctor after doctor. Maybe that's the right thing to do - don't give up, keep looking, maybe the right one will come along. But I have been living with my problem and will continue to do so even though it seems to be getting worse. Some are not as messy as others, but all require multiple wiping, even deep baby wipe digs into the shit hole to get everything clean. I believe it is related to my sphincter or some muscle near it. I have seen 3 doctors. That is obviously to enough. But it rankles me big time going to these fuckers with no confidence at all that they're going to know anything. I don't know about the Hawk and his sphincter issues. But I'm sure whatever he had was not pleasant - for him or for those taxed with the chore of cleaning him up. The Hawk had enough money to buy and use a new wheelchair pad every day. Just buy a year's worth and put them in the closet. Every day a new pad. But he knew he was famous. He knew he had admirers. Longing for a more innocent time when nationally reported killings packed a real wallop. A more innocent time. A better time. And then it all ended. Why? What made our better world go away?
