Every time I go in, except to an oral surgeon for a pulling, I come out worse than I went in. They will fill a tooth, but it feels worse than before. Not brutal pain, just something wrong. I made the mistake of having 3 teeth pulled at the clinic by a dentist who said he could do it because it was a simple procedure. At the time - I learned a lot of shit late - I didn't know there was a difference between an oral surgeon and a dentist. I knew they were surgeons, but I always saw them as someone you go to if you need to have your gums sliced open or something. But oral surgeons are the tooth pullers. The last guy I went to - 20 miles away, but with free transportation service through Medicaid - he pulled that tooth out in less than 20 seconds, easy. The 3 teeth pulled by the dentist at the clinic are still holes to this day. After the pullings he said, "And now we're going to go up and take away a little bone", realizing only later that he had broken the bone because he didn't know how to pull teeth. I have ten spaces between my remaining teeth and they all feel normal except for the 3 pulled by the clinic guy.

I went overboard with my last response to your post. I swear to God I will not allow that to happen this time.

To the point. The Medicaid clinic I go scheduled me for what they call a "quadrant cleaning", where they numb up one quarter of your mouth and give your teeth a good cleaning under the gums. From the start I rejected it. A few months later I had a filling come out and called to make an appointment. They said they could not make an appointment for me because I had "refused service" last time. Wow. I have learned but it took some time, the less you have them do the better. Even a hole in the tooth - sure, who wouldn't want it filled right? - I believe that keeping it clean and taking care of it yourself is better in the long run than running to them for every little thing. I am given up with a thankfully small variety of physical issues. I just live with it, like a dog or a cat, but without their dignity, as I will sometimes cry out loud about my problems. Not actual sobbing, man.. I mean, crying as in bitching and moaning, you know what I mean. I am not a crybaby. I am a real man.

My teeth are bad from being filled at a young age, then filled over and over with more tooth taken away each time till finally they tell me I need a crown, which I can't afford and never could. So I opted for extractions. Anyway, I agree with you, these people are salesmen from the word go. I am beginning to think most people are salesmen no matter what they do. Do you buy what I'm saying here?

I'm getting implants just for my open casket funeral. I finally decided to take the normal route to the other world. These implants are not expensive, not compared to ones worn by living people. These don't go into the ground with you, they are removed by the morticians before they put you under the ground. They are cleaned and used again. Nobody should be toothless for their final farewell. Not only should we open the caskets no matter how the corpse looks, we should open the mouth as well - form it into a smile, or a sneer if requested. A casual affair. I went on foot, a few miles walk. A good excuse for some exercise. When I got there I numbly stumbled into the lobby. I looked around then saw the room with a casket it in and people milling around. I am not exaggerating. I started staring at the corpse as soon as I entered the room. I saw the people but did not dwell on them. I was working my toward the box, all the while saying to myself, "What the fuck did they do to him?" His face looked like it was laminated. Very waxy. I was there the day he died and I knew he didn't look like that. "Man, those morticians really overdid it", I told myself. Then I looked away from the casket to find a face I knew. I could not find one. That is when I turned again to look at the casket with a sign nearby giving his name and date of birth - and it wasn't Richie. Turns out he was in the other room. Richie died at 44. The guy I was looking at was 90. When I got to the real room I noticed people I knew and I told them the story and everyone laughed. Very good.

Only been to one wedding in my life - my Uncle Freddy's - and I went because I wanted to. All the funerals I ever attended were forced on me except for Richie's. Both were very informal affairs. But even then they were more formal than I would have liked. I guess I'm selfish that way. I think it's mostly the woman who takes charge of this shit. Like at Freddy's wedding, it was all very informal, no ceremonies, etc., until she took charge and spoke into a mic to tell everyone the wedding was about to take place. At that time a female priest appeared and things became religious quiet. But it didn't last long, I'll give her that. My cousin Willie who flew in from L.A. for the wedding. He was a performer, sang and played sax. Had a regular gig in Miami for years at the Dream Lounge. You can look that joint up on the web, it's there. He was on stage at the wedding, getting ready to play some songs and do some singing. He said, "Wow, look at all the people in here to see Freddy get married." One of Freddy's favorite sayings for years was, "Love is a temporary flow of shit to the brain." Everyone there knew how he felt about it. "Yeah, lots of people here", Wille continued.. "And I hear Tommy Joe and his buddy Charles came all the way from L.A. for it - on a bus!" I got nice and plastered at that wedding. But all in all my ritual is to stay away from ritualistic stuff.

I don't know if I'm asocial or not. I know I never went for concerts and so forth. But I went to many clubs, some of them crowded. Speaking of which, maybe the crowd itself matters. In fact I'm sure it does. You know how when someone turns 100 or becomes the oldest living person on earth they are always asked the secret of their longevity. It's usually healthy living of some kind, but not going overboard - or having some kind of passion for life, and of course sometimes religion works it's way into the answers as well. But it would be funny to see the world's oldest person being asked how they managed to live so long and they reply, "Staying away from large gatherings is a good idea."

I got a notice from the cable company saying they can lower my internet bill. I always get pissed at those because if they can do it then do it, I won't complain. I am sure it was going to be a deal where you sign up for other shit you wont watch and then the internet price goes down.

I find it strange that if a person doesn't bathe or wash their clothes
