Some of the terms in question like "nigger" are far from complimentary but are not necessarily hateful. How did some of these so-called despicable words come about. Well, Negro is Spanish for black. So that makes sense. They were called Black even before they gave the OK. Then some stupid white southern types started mispronouncing Negro into Nigra. It became Nigra. Even that was too tough, going from that 'g' to the 'r', not an easy word to learn. So they shortened it up to Nigger. It's really not a hateful word. But I don't like it. It's not one of my favorites. In fact I don't dwell on Negroes much, not like you and Ollie and others who are ashamed/embarrassed/insecure about your own race. I know what I am and am proud of it.. Once again you have forced me to use the google search bar dictionary style.. I enjoy it. I like to see how close I am.
