I am so depressed. I went to the butchers this morning to buy some
chopped meat, and to weigh myself on the store's scale. Unfortunately
for me, it's not just the price of beef that has gone up. I now tip the
scales at 486, after weighing only 458 just two weeks ago. I'm so afraid
of going back to my all-time high of 508; or worse, even higher. I've
tried exercising and dieting but nothing seems to work. What can I do to
battle this depression, besides drugs and alcohol?

Everyone has seen pictures of POW camps being liberated. Hundreds of living skeletons. And not a fat one in the bunch. You need a POW camp Judith. Or a more friendly version like the fat camp. You need a drill instructor.. But you are a woman. You don't know what it's like to get drafted, to take orders from real men (and women). That's the problem with the fat camp, you can go AWOL any time you want without fear of prosecution. Maybe that's the wrinkle. We'd have to get the law behind it to make it work. You sign into a high end fat camp - lots of discipline but with good food and fun activities too - along with signing a waiver stating that if you quit before the time to which you agreed you can be hunted down and made to pay extra money or straight to jail you go, just like with a real prison camp. My point is, we often hear the metabolism excuse from fat people - not that they need excuses - but from all the POW and shipwrecked for months photos I've seen I've never seen a fat person in the bunch. This is an encouraging sign, it tells you it can be done. Now God dammit, get out there and do it!

You are not confined to those two methods alone. You can always use the Ollie and TJ Slim Down Method (SDM) to get rid of the pounds. We arrange a meeting, preferably at your place. We get relaxed and chatty. Getting to know each other. Then suddenly we swing into action, Ollie with the big burlap bag, me with the rope. We get you out of there and take you to our farm. Yes, we've got a farm. There we give you your own room - sound proofed with walls too thick to even think about breaking through - tv, radio, all kinds of diversions, but not communication with the outside world. We will feed you wholesome foods that are low in calories. You will suffer but you will be grateful. We'll get you down to 175 pounds. From there you will see light at the end of the tunnel. Then we release you and you are on your own. If you go to the cops, believe me, we will kill you. Even if we're in prison we've got contacts. Do not mess with us. But if you accept our help you will be grateful in the end. This I guarantee. Hey, how about one day the butcher yells, "Hey, I'm getting sick of you using my scale all the time. I am pleased to say that my numbers are going lower. Last time I was
491, now I'm down to a svelte 475. I've been doing diet and exercise and
it seems to be working. My goal is to wear a string bikini in public
down in Ft. Lauderdale next spring break. If I reach my goal, I want you

One on each side? Will the camera be able to capture all of us at once? I still say anyone who weights more than 300 pounds and is able to exercise is inherently strong, like bums on skid row who drink enough alcohol to etch the experience into their face, or speed freaks who you look at, even those who no longer use, and you know by their face that they were into it. To go through such a major transformation and come out alive requires strength. Have you ever considered that some people are too healthy and need stuff like drugs to slow them down? I remember telling a guy at the poolroom about exercise guru Jack LaLanne doing some massive amount of pushups in a row, and the guy said in all seriousness, "LaLanne, now there's a guy - if he didn't exercise he'd be a mass murderer." It broke me up but I knew what he meant. I remember reading a hilarious article from my all-time favorite magazine - Violent World which came out in the late 70 and lasted only 5 editors before they couldn't find anybody to distribute it anymore. They were describing Larry Eugene Campbell, an escaped murderer wanted by the FBI. They had profile and front photos of the top ten most wanted criminals in America at the time. Campbell was one of them. The article was hilarious. It mentioned him being a full-time drug user, and "Yet those drugs have done nothing to weaken the brutal misused strength of his body." I am pasting the article below. I think you'll like it. I loved that magazine. These were real news articles delivered in the chosen style of the magazine which was mostly humor, but not the overdone type. Here's the article on Larry Eugene Campbell. Whoops, decided to add another already filed away article from the mag, a shorty that I see more as a poem than a news report.

Have to mention a true story about Violent World Magazine. I went down to the newsstand to buy edition #6 and was told by the owner the mag was not available because it is no longer being distributed.

I had all five editions that had come out before it went belly up. When visitors would come over I'd drag them out and they'd look at the pictures, some of which were amazing, one of a guy who had leaped from a tall building and landed on his neck on a spiked fence (as just one instance). I told these people, "You know the people who put out this stuff meant it to be funny", yet most could not see beyond the pictures.

A short time later from the poolroom payphone I called the New York number listed inside the magazine. A woman answered. She was the publisher. I asked her what the deal was. She said she couldn't find anyone to distribute the mag. I told her I loved it. Then I told her about people at my place looking only at the pictures without getting into the text. "So tell me", I said, "I already know the answer, I just want to know for sure - were you trying to be funny when you wrote that stuff?"

"Are you kidding?", she replied, "We were on the floor every day." She sent me 5 free editions when I told her the covers were coming off the ones I had. The mag came out once a month and cost only a dollar with hardly any advertisements. The best mag I ever saw.

That is an amazing article. The story of Larry Gene Campbell was
intriguing; here was a man powerful enough to kill two people with his
bare hands, yet authorities felt the need to warn the public that he may
be armed. He was armed alright with a double-barrel, his left and his
right. What I really enjoyed was the story of Christine Daw. I would
have loved to witness her tumbling down that pyramid. That's entertainment!

I can understand anyone's desire to witness such a sight. But I'd rather read about it. Same with Campbell. I loved the way they dwelled on his forearms strength with admiration almost. The way his victim took an immediate backseat in the article. The front of the mag - if you pump it into the google bar you'll see some stuff come up, nothing to read though, just some mag covers - the front of the mag had a section 4 or 5 pages long with ultra short articles and they called it "Our Violent World." One article was almost as short as the headline. Just a quick report of some guy named Leo in Florida who died when a bee flew into his mouth and bit him in the throat and he choked to death. The headline read: "Chew with your mouth closed, Leo." All these stories were real. They were not embellished, just presented in a unique "Violent World" format. I think distributors were afraid of it. Although there were no outright lies or hateful slander, I think the irreverence of some of the presentations had the distributors nervous. I enjoyed the writing. There was another short article from the "Our Violent World" section (which is where the Pyramid bounce-down story came from), that shows a picture of a grieving woman standing near a body of water with authorities dragging her drowned husband to shore, and it starts out with, "Tragedy-dazed Sandra Martinez looks on as authorities drag her husband ashore." Something along those lines, can't recall the exact words, just the "tragedy-dazed" part. That was an LOL even before they existed. Tragedy-dazed - hilarious.

I like the brevity part. Just give me the basic facts, some gory details
and eliminate all the fluff. I think deep down that everyone loves
violence; especially when it doesn't effect them directly. This is
another brilliant idea for a tv series. Follow the 'Forensic Files'
format of half-hour show. Tell the people briefly what happened and then
spend about 5 full minutes showing all the gruesome scenery. You can
cover 3 cases per show with still enough time for commercials. No need
to try to solve these murders; nobody gives a shit who did it.

I do not care who did it s long as someone pays. Lynchings are looked down on today but this is what we need.

This is one of the shortcomings of living in America. We no longer
permit public hangings; which is actually quite sad. During and after
the fighting in WWII, public hanging was a popular gathering. Especially
if the hangman used the short drop. Those hanging could take over an
hour and were far more entertaining. Crowds were estimated sometimes as
high as 50,000 spectators. Perhaps you were referring to the lynchings
of the old West, where they'd put some poor soul on a horse and a noose
around his neck. Those were usually attended by just a few lucky folks.

I have seen plenty of violence and I don't like it. I am drawn to it like most, or was at one time. Hard to walk away from 10 guys circle stomping 3 into whimpering mass of wannabe unconscious. I don't like the physical aspect of violence. I am drawn to it but do not like it. I like the humor of torture. I don't want to see the real thing. I love the idea of having a torture dungeon and bringing in a confederate to pose as a new victim. Put him in a room with another guy. The new guy tells the one already there that he has a key. He knows the way out. He waits. Then he acts. He unlocked the chain pads and he leads the way down the hall. Of course this is done while the torturer is taking a break. When they get to the end of the hall the new guy says, "This is it, this is the exit door, I remember it from last time." He opens the door. Standing in the door with his arm blocking the way is the torturer himself as both he and the pretend victim laugh it up while leading the real victim back to his home for life - the suffer slab. I also like horror movies where regular people are forced through their predicaments to turn on each other. I am not FOR the violence, only for how people react to it - what they become because of it. Take it down to the basics. Oh yeah baby, that's where it's at.

Why stop with only one? I can see it now, a guy being arrested for a crime that someone has already been executed for. Or maybe he hasn't been executed yet. Maybe he's still on death row. The newly arrested guy says, "Wait a minute, how can you arrest me for a crime you've already convicted someone else for?", to which 'the authorities' reply, "Oh, we made a mistake with that guy, just found out yesterday that he's innocent. So, sorry, right now it looks like you're our boy."

Not trying to play Mr. Nice guy, but I am not for public executions. I am not for giving our public any kind of satisfaction they probably don't deserve because as I said before, in every lynch mob there is someone guilty of the same thing they're hanging the other guy for. I don't like that. I bugs me. I am against capital punishment for reasons of my own, not the usual predictable back and forth reasons we hear in boring debates. I am against it simply because it's always been around and it's time to move on.

No, I would not pay to see it. I'm not sure I'd go even for free. Might catch it on tape though - something I can turn on or off at will, not some possibly unwanted sight etched into my brain for eternity. Now, when I was younger there were things I'd have paid to see (if I weren't producing the events myself), such as a fight between a gorilla and a bear. I proposed that one at the poolroom back in the early 70s and a bunch of us were into debating it for days. I would have gone with the bear but may have rooted for the gorilla. Actually, I think they'd be scared to death of each other, might even have to be starved to get them into a fighting mood. Prod them somehow. But when I first thought of the idea - and I'm not saying I was the first to ever do so - I really believed it was a great idea and it might really go over if I pitched it to just the right person. Hype it up for months on TV. People will be walking around wearing Gorilla or Bear tee shirts to show their support. Some neutralists will have both the bear and 'rilla on their tee shirt. Others will walk around with tee shirts denouncing the upcoming event as barbaric and cruel. Either way the tee shirt business will be booming, which was our purpose from the very start, the bear and gorilla matchup merely seeds to get our tee shirt business firmly planted in the American conscience.

Cops need crime, doctors need disease, dentists need decay, tree workers need hurricanes and other natural disasters to bolster their business. Yes, they will be hung not only for minor offenses, they will eventually be forced into committing those offenses or confessing to offenses they never committed, anything to keep the hanging business UP and running as tight as a noose.

She had a good body but never was a beauty. She would never had been known beyond the girls basketball team if she was not a stars kid.
