I love doing nothing. Sure it is hard work but I am all about doing the hard thing when it means I can take it easy. Someday they will make a movie called "The Idle Ones." I hope Warren Oates is still available to be in it.. He is the greatest actor since Lloyd Nolan in my book.

Michael Douglas beating the crap out of Kirk. Then a younger punk comes along and says, "Why don't you try someone your own age, asshole?" Turns out the punk is Michael Douglas's kid. He is a real young gun. The young guns of the past are now put out to pasture - none of that free range shit around here. They are there waiting on the coming challenge from their offspring who in turn must face their own children in later battles, each new generation blowing the last out of the water in its quest for all time greatness.

Does Hollywood still make movies? Did COVID kill all the actors? I have not seen a new movie at the theater in years. Perhaps it is all CGI made in China.

Did Charlie Sheen have any kids? We need more Sheens. Or Estafezes. Or Tom Cruise kids even. Hanks has some kids. So many out there. Do they have to compete with each other? How do they sort them out?

Lots of new game shows on TV and almost all suck. Bad. The majority are celebrity versions of game shows from the past. Tonight I turned on the new Celebrity Match Game where male and female celebrities ask questions of 3 potential suitors before picking one for a date. The celebrities are all people I never heard of - mostly female and Negro. Total garbage show. Lots of noise. So in answer to your question, yes it looks like the celebs are getting even more desperate following many months of inactivity brought on by COVID. They are going to make up for it big time by appearing in movies and shows even worse than the ones they were in before the virus hit.

I would not know any new up and comers. I am sticking with the down and outers. TV is dead. The cool kids are on tik tok I think.

I don't need entertainers on any level. There's enough good old stuff to last more than a life time without standing in line for the so-called future.. I don't know any of the new celebs either. Like you point out most of todays actors are relatives of people already in the movie and tv business. Many are good actors but not interesting. And few character types anymore. Having had TV since a kid how much more can I take? I have had enough. I want to go beyond the movies and into the mind of the big creator. Someone like Spillburg or Tarrantino.

Now you're talking my language. Tarantino - a fucking cinema God. I've seen all his movies. If I missed one I deserve to die tonight. In the beginning I didn't think much of Quentin's work. But guys in the biz, guys who knew their stuff, told me not to give up on him. "He's great", they told me. "He's just young. Give him time to grow and you'll see the greatness." And sure enough the rest is history. But there are actors out there capable of being great directors if given the chance. Some are held back, operating under the shadow of their famous parent. Once they break free they show us time and again they are capable of anything. Emilio, Lou Diamond, Sean Penn - these guys are outstanding actors, geniuses at their craft - but believe me, if given a chance they could blow Spillburg and 'Tino out of the water. If only they were given a chance.

The grade of talent in entertainment is so low that director's children will soon be in the director's chair. At one time I saw certain professions as immune to nepotism. Some professions take real talent. I know nepotism knows no bounds but let's face it, it exists more in professions requiring little or no talent. Ok, maybe some talent, but the kind almost everybody has. Like auto racing, there's a lot of nepotism in that field. It's not easy doing what they do at such a high competitive level. Still, lots of people like to drive fast and would love to do what those guys are doing. But it's all locked up. Today for the movies we don't need director's children. Actor's children will do just fine. In fact today we don't need directors at all. We want to go full method. Improv all the way. No rules. No control.

I don't know about racing. The few kids who I know raced never did as well.. Also driving fast is harder than it looks. I only drove fast a few times and no where need race car speeds. Going 200+ mph is nuts.

It is nuts. I took one of my old cars over 100 once and that was enough for me. But I always had older cars. New cars can go fast but you don't always realize just how fast you're going because they're smoother. For safety's sake people should drive older rickety cars. Or have their new ones custom build to shake at a speed they don't want to go above. But it's true, take a look at race car driving. As nuts as it is, and not everybody can do it, it is one of the most nepotistic fields out there. I noticed this decades ago. I do not believe in the "It's in the blood" routine. Maybe with certain athletics, with both parents being top athletes or very large or strong. These 'talents' can be inherited. But I don't think smarts are inherited. I don't think skill is inherited. I don't care if every son and daughter of every famous person gets a free shot at fame and fortune - not at this stage of my life. I do believe the more actual talent or skill required for something the less likely it is to be inherited. Acting is number one when it comes to nepotism because just about anybody can do it.

Your comments only further prove my point that it does not take talent to be a top race car driver. But some have come close to their parent's achievements, like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and others whose names I can't remember. It's all relative. I know nepotism exists everywhere and I mostly accept it.. I do not like it in fields that claim to require talent and skill or artistry. It is not jealousy. I don't care how much money they have and how well known they are, I just don't like hearing them called artists. Same goes for musicians. Even nobodies on talent shows are referred to as artist number one or artist number two or whatever. To be a real artist requires years of suffering even if it has to be on purpose. Take it from me, I know - because I am now and have always been "The Artiste".
