Never got to the Smithsonians. I would have liked to had seen the Airplane one. But I will never go to Washington if I can help it. Been there a couple of times. Did walk around. It was kind of a crappy city. Dirty. But I did like seeing Abe. Did not see John and I do not know where Martin is.

I actually like the city, scum and all, although I wouldn't want to live in a scummy part. I stayed there twice, two weeks each time, with an aunt who lived in a large house on a small street that ran into two large ones on each end, rather scummy. But walking around I never had any trouble. Anyway, visiting and living there are two different things for sure.

But I never was into the statues and monuments. I was there my gay school teacher caretaker and he called all the shots. He was into it. I agree. To this day I don't know if the guy's ultra conservative views were just image or the real thing. I tend to think they were real. The guy lured me in. I am not joking when I say I believe the upcoming year will be the year I die if I don't die before it gets here. I am falling apart from the inside out. Many may not see it. Others might. Others schooled in finding that special "look of death" in people's faces. It's an aura, almost a smell, kind of hard to describe.

Funny how they say the virus is not worse than ever, yet most businesses are open again, the ones that made it through. That includes bars. I'll be a few new cases will come as the result of turkey day gatherings, fingers dipping into this and that, everyone sharing at the same infected table. It would be nice to get a true consistent gestation period on these viruses - in days - so that when someone comes down with the virus we can count backwards to see what date most of them got sick. I have the post nasal drip thing. It has been building for awhile. I told doctors about it and they say use Flonaze or Zyrtec. Well all that just made it worse. Have big chunks stuck in the throat. Finally coughing them up. A real snot-a-rama going on.

I have had it. I am not Mister Back to Nature, the guru of homeopathic medicine - but all those over the counter cold medicines make me feel worse. I used to use NiQuil - a nice buzz to sleep land. But then I'd start waking up with restless legs and couldn't sleep even though I was really tired. I kind of like the big chunks coming out. I'm not kidding. I hate most the dry cough that produces nothing.

I think I told you this. Your situation reminds me of it, the post nasal thing. I had something like it about 5 years ago. I put up with it for weeks until I couldn't take it anymore and went to the emergency room. The usual long wait. I read a lot of magazines I never would have looked at on my own.

Anyway, they had a line of workers and I could not differentiate them - are they nurses, orderlies, doctors, or what? But in the course of finally being seen I saw maybe 3 different doctors check in on me. It's real assembly line in there. I was hoping I had pneumonia, and I'm not joking. I know pneumonia can be bad, but at least they know what it is and have treatments for it. Well, they took X-rays and I was all clear. I told the guy who took the shots that I was disappointed. Maybe he thought I was nuts, but I was far from it.

So they took me back up. At least in the emergency room you get a lot of questions for the revolving door of doctors, better than an actual doctor's office. They didn't know what I had. Then they started telling me what they were going to prescribe me. I started to cringe right away as I heard them naming one med after the other I had at some point already taken to no avail. Then at the very end a female doctor walking fast past my tent looked in and said, "Oh, give this one a small jolt of steroids", and I thanked her because I was just about ready to ask the doctors for some, and they looked to me like the type who just can't wait to say "No" to everything.

To the point - symptoms similar to yours - the emergency room - and the scripts. I took the scripts to a nearby all nite pharmacy. It makes me feel better about people in general to meet up with people who are attentive and notice things. The pharmacist looked at my scripts and said, "Crazy, it's really crazy." I asked him what's crazy and he says in the past 3 weeks he's seen hundreds of the very same scripts coming through. Probably some kind of virus they knew nothing about, which may be the best approach overall, if they'd just fucking admit it. Anyway, good luck on getting rid of that shit. Maybe some short forced walks and lots of water. I am not against meds that work wonders. But in general - so far anyway - I prefer to get by without them unless they are meds of my choice not based on being sick.

I asked him what's crazy and he says in the past 3 weeks he's seen hundreds of the very same scripts coming through. Probably some kind of virus they knew nothing about, which may be the best approach overall, if they'd just fucking admit it. Anyway, good luck on getting rid of that shit. Maybe some short forced walks and lots of water. I am not against meds that work wonders. But in general - so far anyway - I prefer to get by without them unless they are meds of my choice not based on being sick.

The steroids are interesting. I hear some of the best covid treatments include steroids yet I think most doctors are not up on them. I went to the doctor yeaterday and got a prescription for antibiotics so I am taking them. It after those are gone if I still have this crud I will ask for the roids.
