I made a 600 mile trip using mostly highways.

I had my cruise control set for 55 mph.

Previously in 2015, I got 28.4 mpg.

But this last trip I got 29.8 mpg.

Is that possible since it is 7 years later?

Thanks.

600 mi round trip would have gotten you to Ft. Worth and back. :)

1.4 mpg change is not much. It sounds reasonable to me.
There are lots of variables. Tire tread hardness, tire air pressure,
ambient temp, load weight, road surface, engine oil, air filter,
alignment, the list goes on and on.

I drove to San Marcos and Kerrville, Tx. Pretty hilly.

I am pleased with the mileage I got.

I used mid grade gas and had new tires.

More effect from new tires than the fuel.
