For the past couple of days, I have been pruning groups to save articles up to 90 days.

This will prune approximately 2 million posts for this run. Then it will just expire one day's postings after that (postings over 90 days old). The expirition is automatic, it just takes quite a while to expire millions of posts.

I wanted to do this as the server running is not that powerful, and wanted to see the speed changes. Also, it was a major test for rslight's expire.php program, which is performing perfectly.

Note, you can still view all these groups with much longer retention on, which has been up and running for about as long as Note the '.org' vs. '.com'.

Right now serves approximately 3.6 million posts, and does not seem to have any trouble doing so.

Yes, I know number of active users makes a big difference, but I'm testing the db access times right now. sqlite3 is performing very nicely.
