I drove all over town today for work, and planned to stop at a store and buy a hard drive on the way home.

Well, I'm home now and the person in the car (me) forgot to remind me to stop.

Oh well, there's always the next day :)

I did. I picked up two drives, one SSD. It's nice and fast :)

Almost a year later: The SSD drive is constantly having errors. I've had to move more important stuff to another drive. Not sure yet what is the problem, but I don't trust it at this point.

Hardware issue, I’d say. I never had problems with my SSDs. Unfortunately,
it’s probably too late to return it now.

If you’re going to get another one, I’d suggest taking a look at NVMe SSD.

That's probably what it is. I have no problems with the hard drives, and have plenty of storage, so not a big loss. It was just fun to have the SSD!

Wow, I just took a look as I wasn't familiar. Fast stuff. I just read, "To benefit fully from an NVMe SSD, you must be able to boot the operating system from it." I'm guessing by 'benefit fully' they mean boot faster, or is there some other reason? Maybe it's assumed your os is on your boot partition? I'm curious now, I'll read more about it in a few days.
