I hope that it's okay that I post this here.

So, I wanted a reddit-like site that was:

Lightweight / fast
Privacy focused
Not heavy on censorship
And integrated with "alternative internets" (Tor, I2P, Yggdrasil for now)

This website is accessible as a service on each of the individual large anonymity networks allowing users of those networks to not leave their network of choice. Whereas normally, members on a Tor Onion Service web forum would only be able to communicate with other members using that same Tor Onion Service, on here, they can interact with members using the website via the I2P eepsite service, or the regular internet, even. It's a unique idea and we're excited to see how it plays out.

Originally I wasn't going to have a clearnet version, but decided that bridging everyone into one place may serve valuable in getting regular, every day people more interested in online privacy and supporters of these various alternative networks.

Anyway, it has just literally launched. I've just finished populating some default content on some 'featured forums' (defaults) but it's now open and anyone can register, sign up, and create their own content or forum for their liking. I2P is the network I use and support the most and honestly one I'd like to see more people get on board with so I am posting about it here first.

You can access the website via the following networks / urls:

The clearnet: https://ramble.pw
I2P: http://smv3cryi3n7d5ll7xpvlhstubi5yj4dadeltyrdwdr4onwd2jvvq.b32.i2p (Until ramble.i2p starts resolving network wide)
TOR: http://rambleeeqrhty6s5jgefdfdtc6tfgg4jj6svr4jpgk4wjtg3qshwbaad.onion/ (If you use the clearnet site on Tor, you'll be notified of this Onion Service or switched automatically depending on your browser settings)
Yggdrasil: http://[200:718d:c499:3fce:c5e:65c6:73d6:f46d]

There is also an I2P community on [RAMBLE] here: https://ramble.pw/f/i2p as well.

I'm working on a wiki with more details here: https://ramble.pw/wiki (or http://smv3cryi3n7d5ll7xpvlhstubi5yj4dadeltyrdwdr4onwd2jvvq.b32.i2p/wiki ) and have a welcome post made in the [RAMBLE] meta forum here: https://ramble.pw/f/ramble/3/welcome-to-ramble (or http://smv3cryi3n7d5ll7xpvlhstubi5yj4dadeltyrdwdr4onwd2jvvq.b32.i2p/f/ramble/3/welcome-to-ramble )

I hope you all enjoy it.

Not a problem.

All good ideas.

I checked it out, it looks very nice!

> or the regular internet, even. It's a unique idea and we're excited to see how it plays out.

It's not a common idea, but not unique to your site. We're running several sites this same way currently. The site you posted on is one, and I'm replying from another (via i2p currently). One difference is that our sites sync messages with one another, which allows different interfaces to the same forums.

I'm glad to see a new site now also available in several networks (yours).

> Originally I wasn't going to have a clearnet version, but decided that bridging everyone into one place may serve valuable in getting regular, every day people more interested in online privacy and supporters of these various alternative networks.

I had the same thought, but went ahead and set up a couple of sites available on clearnet. I agree, it helps with exposure, and in my case, it helps with troubleshooting the software I'm running my sites on.

Yes, I would like to see more i2p users!

Thanks for posting about your new site.

that is one supernice site. software is postmill, if i am not mistaken ?
i so love the concept and the look of it, in fact i was playing with it as well for a while, but gave up at one point...

your site will be a great contribution to i2p and the other networks, if you let it run long enough (love the idea of bridging as well, btw).

you wouldn't be interested to bridge also protocols, would you ? thinking about http <--> nntp here...

cheers

also like the tos, btw. pretty close to how we have been handling things here in the forums. and this approach worked well so far (the rocksolid forums are listed on some darknet link list as "one of the darknet forums you can legally visit and that will not get you in trouble" or somesuch, :-) ).

will you allow anonymous posting at one point, or stick with mandatory registration ?

cheers
