The theme of cyber-attacks has become an extremely fertile ground for
various speculations and psyops. Given that nobody can really verify
anything. People can't see anything with their own eyes, they can only
trust (or distrust) to certain experts, and in this way it provides a
vast field for creative manipulation over the public opinion.

Agree.
At the same time, it is the bread and butter for some cyber-security companies.
Without frequent news of cyber attacks, how else could they land public as well
as private contracts.
