I read where Ford already does undercoating of aluminum trucks against rust at the factory. But I live in the Upper Midwest, so I see a lot of salt in the winter. Thanks.

Is aluminum a problem? I know welded bodies are very difficult to
repair because of steel pollution (require an aluminum only repair
facility) but I didn't know salt was a problem.

Salt will eat aluminum too.

The frames, at least my 2019 F150 frame, is steel.

The frames are steel but the boxes, after '14 (IIRC), are aluminum.
I'm not sure of the rest of the body. Aluminum creep may have taken
over the whole thing.

Good Question. LOL The body is aluminum, basically all exterior color
painted surfaces.

Way back when, Ford used a galvanized cowl panel, the part with inlets
around the windshield wiper arms. Those notoriously did not hold
paint. That would require a different painting process. I suspect
that this was cured by using the same metal through out, which is
painted the same color. It would be an expensive process painting with
different formulas for the same color in the same vehicle..
A real PIA for body shops and probably the factory was painting the
rubber body parts around the bumpers that matched the color of the body.
Those parts required a special painting process that required the
paint to have a flex additive.
