40% of Germany's gas usage comes from Nord Stream One from Russia.

Nord Stream Two undersea Baltic gag pipline of 1200 km from Western
Russia to North-eastern Germany is completed in November 2021 waiting
for regulatory operating license and operational safety certification
from EU Commission in Belgium. It will service Germany, Italy, Turkey,
and France. Germany will have 55 billion cubic metres of gas from it
each year.

The EU is entirely dependent on Russia's oil and gas. If Russia invaded
Ukraine, the gas pipeline for Nord stream One that entirely run through
Ukraine will be switched off by Russia. But it will not be able stop a
complete flow immediately as gas flow is risky of disruptions if
suddenly the gas flow is stopped.

From this, there is a 50/50 chance of continuing the gas supply to
Germany and EU. So far, American is committed to 8500 troops to fight
Russia at 100,000 troops.This showed US is not going to fight them but
is going to make serious economic sanctions against Russia..
