First, the Uyghurs in Xinjiang never refer to their home as East Turkestan. If you mention East Turkestan to them, most of them will be wondering what you are talking about. They call their home Xinjiang, not East Turkestan. The ones using the name East Turkestan are the Americans and the Uyghur separatists in the US who are supported financially by the US.

Second, this fake news about Uyghurs being arrested for wearing a scarf is being spread by Radio Free Asia (RFA) that belongs to the US Agency for Global Media, the US international propaganda agency.

In reality, the Uyghurs can wear a headscarf. In the picture below, you can see Uyghur women wearing a head scarf outside the Id Kah mosque in Kashgar..

Third, the US has allocated funds for spreading lies against China. The following is one of them that is included in the Strategic Competition (against China) Act 2021:
