I find it strange from your question that you think if US has failed three times then China cannot succeed on first attempt or need to fail at least four times (greater than three) to land on Mars. Why should it be? Any physical laws on this? Any genes issue? Brainwashed?

Please note that China has not stolen any intelligence or space secret from US in the Mars expedition, as is the common perception among many Americans that China steals a lot of secrets from US and may be China did so this time.

That America has failed several times means that their checking, their preparation, quality, etc failed them in their attempts. American Mars team are not the only best in class team in the world and all others are inferior or should not perform better than the American team.

Chinese are intelligent people too. Chinese have built the Great Wall, Grand Canal, irrigation projects built in Qin Dynasty in Szechuan that still works today. The Beidou satellite system is another example.
