What do Chinese-Americans think about the CCP?
Chinese Americans are a very diverse group of people, but in my experience, they fall under 3 main categories, with subcategories within them:

Don’t care/think about the CCP:
These Chinese-Americans tend to be very Americanized, and apolitical in general. They have better things to worry about, such as test scores, college admissions, and day to day happenings. Many might nominally oppose the CCP, but in reality, they don’t know much about the actual issues.
Anti-CCP:
Anti-Communists: These people just hate anything to do with communism, whether it’s the USSR, Karl Marx, or “socialist welfare policies.” These tend to be old people from the Cold War days, who are often remnants of what remains of Asian Republicans. They’re still culturally Chinese though, but dislike the Chinese (and other communist) governments. Some are ethnic Chinese from Southeast Asia.
Anti-CCP specifically: These people have singled out the CCP to dislike, rather than just communists in general. Of course, they still dislike communism, but aren’t rabid about it. Many are from places like Hong Kong and Taiwan, but are still culturally Chinese (gasp). They have certain opinions about Taiwan, Hong Kong, and democracy, but for the most part, support China’s territorial claims outside of islands.
Social Justice Weirdos that Sanders supporting me refuses to affiliate with: These people are anti-China to their core. Unlike category 2b, their claims of “we don’t oppose China, we only oppose the CCP” really isn’t true. Free Tibet and pro-Falun Gong/cult weirdos. They’re very Americanized, and seem to oppose stuff China does for the sake of opposing China. Many also seem to be self-hating and dislike Chinese culture in one way or another. A good number of them go out of their way to disparage Chinese culture. There’s a reason I don’t affiliate with these people.
Pro-CCP:
Pro-China: These people are proud Chinese, and like China. They are more attracted to the cultural aspects and often times, economic well-being of the mainland, but aren’t outright pro-CCP. They won’t go out of their way to praise the CCP, but tend to support China’s territorial claims, actions, and whatnot. They’re tacitly pro-CCP, although often times they have certain disagreements. However, who actually agrees with everything their government or politician does?
Pro-CCP due to economy: These people really like what they CCP has done, in terms of managing the economy. China’s economy has done nothing but grow. In one lifetime, per capita income has increased from $50 to $8500. Life expectancies have doubled, and poverty has been rapidly reduced. Again, these people tend to be cultural Chinese, and tend to support China on other, nationalist and social issues, with a few exceptions. I’d say I fall into this category
Staunch nationalists: These people are dedicated nationalists. They support China’s government first and economy second. They’re pretty….rabid about their support. Of course these people are culturally Chinese. They support everything China does. A few are actual staunch Communists too, although most of the actual communists are from China.
