"More than half of young Americans feel democracy in the country is under threat, and over a third think they may see a second U.S. civil war within their lifetimes, according to the 42nd Harvard Youth Poll, released by Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics (IOP) on Wednesday.

The poll also found approval of President Biden has plummeted, and a majority of respondents are unhappy with how the president and Congress are doing their jobs. In addition, many of the respondents feel strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and are worried about the threat of climate change. Half of all respondents also said they struggled with feelings of hopelessness and depression.

The Harvard Youth Poll—which is conducted twice a year, in fall and spring, and has run for over 20 years—captured responses on these topics and others from 2,109 people between the ages of 18 and 29, from across the country. Students from the Harvard Public Opinion Project (HPOP) organized the survey, under the supervision of John Della Volpe, director of polling at the IOP. "

The second civil war is going to happen during their lifetimes. But 35%
of them said so is not much.

Maybe take a few more serious cases in the next one year to speed thing
up to 65 to 70% to civil war. Republican approval slumped to 9% by 13
points.

If they further slump to 5%, that can trigger a real civil war. Maybe a
civil war will bring US to self-destruction for the sake of God. Anyway,
God will be judging them.

US needs to be tempered for its war monger behavior on other countries
except for its 5-eyes buddies.

American's democracy has changed a lot in the past 18 years and is now
accelerating into civil war among themselves, which will likely happen in a
year forward. The people in US is getting angrier and angrier when they see
themselves being killed by guns and other things. Hopefully, the civil war
will be delayed until some real solution takes place.

Many de-regulations have gone too far. American workers suffer. And they
could not themselves up by their bootstraps. Collective frustration would
misdirected by partisan, racial and xenophobic political manipulations.
