Do you ever decide to throw a game while playing someone weaker? I've done it a few times. Sometimes however, I make to throw it and then they surprise me with something and then we writhe for awhile until I win. Mainly I'm curious, what would cause you to decide to throw a game?

One thing I've seen that you have to be careful about is that if you throw a game to someone pretty weak, and along comes someone good, you will have a poor reputation around the parts and might not get to play the person who is good very many times.

What I do sometimes is "make it interesting" and play a couple blunders or so until the enemy can get on board and then play out the rest normally. Most people won't let you discard a piece at the beginning of the game for a "handicap." Intentional blunders are a different way of doing something like that, but within the rules. Of course, you don't tell your opponent they are intentional.
