Let's look at the actual situation, even if we ignore the politics

Hong Kong's drinking water comes from mainland China

Hong Kong's daily vegetables come from mainland China

70% of Hong Kong's electricity supply comes from mainland China

Hong Kong's territorial waters are surrounded by territorial waters under the jurisdiction of mainland China, in other words, ships entering and leaving Hong Kong have to pass through mainland China's territorial waters.

The same applies to Hong Kong's aviation, as all aircraft entering and leaving Hong Kong have to pass through the airspace of mainland China

If the border is closed.

No more daily water supply

No more daily vegetables

70% of the electricity is lost

No more ships or planes in or out of Hong Kong.

Do you think there is a more bizarre idea than that?
