Is the White House announcement that no US official will attend the next Chinese Olympics because of Chinese human rights abuses is a good move to help China reform their chance of becoming a credible world power?
Help China??? China doesn’t need any help, least of all from the Americans.

China is already a major world power renowned for its peacefulness and benevolence…

China has not fought a single war since 1979, while America has fought wars in Afghanistan, Bosnia, El Salvador, Grenada, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, etc.
China does not have 750 military bases in over 80 countries, nor 11 supercarrier strike groups prowling the world’s oceans (with a 12th on the way).
China does not spend nearly a trillion dollars on its military, more than the next 11 countries combined!
China is helping countries in the Global South build their infrastructure via the Belt and Road Initiative.
China is helping countries in the Global South vaccinate their populations as the rich Western nations have abandoned them through vaccine hoarding.
China is pursuing diplomacy throughout the Middle East rather than bombing the shit out of the region. Recently, China signed a 25-year cooperation deal with Iran.
China is negotiating with the Taliban for the future of Afghanistan instead of invading and occupying the country for 20 years.
China is engaging the ASEAN countries in peaceful trade with RCEP, the world’s largest free trade bloc.
China is building its own international space station and inviting all the nations of earth to participate in the program, including the United States.. (Recall that USA banned China from the ISS.)
There are no Chinese human rights abuses — that’s US propaganda bullshit supported by Western media. If you’ve been swallowing this crap, shame on you.
