I agree about Yeager ... he'd earned the #1 spot.
Not to diss the rest, they really were the best and
brightest - but Yeager deserved to be there.

And yes, it WAS a sort of propaganda show - typical
cold-war dick-measuring.

BUT .... it paid off far more than they imagined.

We HAD the money back then, so, why not ? The tech
