Since China and the USA are so economically codependent, why don’t they just team up to tackle the world's problems? Are both sides really that afraid of endorsing the other’s form of government?
China isn’t the problem. USA is.

China is perfectly willing to cooperate with USA. But USA insists on demonizing China, slandering China, antagonizing China. USA is doing everything it can to contain China’s rise because it threatens USA’s global hegemony.

There are also elements of bigotry and racism. USA hates China’s political system.

And USA has exhibited racist attitude towards the Chinese for generations. Remember that USA abused Chinese labourers in the 1800s with the Chinese Exclusion Act.
