I agree, they're looking to recapture what they see from the 60s, iconic stuff - Kent State, etc. But that era was full of crap too trying to present themselves as the first at something that's been around since time began. We don't have film for lots of it. But even with the film we do have, how it is presented means something. Don't even have to change anything, just a different narration to go with the film. The film mesmerizes people - pictures that move, as beguiling today as when invented. The narrator's voice then takes charge. Proof of this can be seen in the endless parade of pharmaceutical commercials on TV. As the side effects are listed they put on pleasant moving pictures to lure people away from what they don't want to hear anyway. Anyway, the 60s had nothing on any other era except for maybe top prize is horrible fashion which got even worse in the 70s when disco put its twist on it.

I was a kid in the 60's. from 60 to 70 I was 5 to 15. So I was a wonders year kid although I never watched that show. I was not interested in comparing the writers reality to my own. I am not like that with all shows about the era but I guess because it had kids as the focus I was not interested. So what am I trying to say? Nothing. I got nothing to say. Well maybe something. I did like the Beatles and the Monkees.
