Lots of "let's stir 'em up" news stories come straight from the web. What someone says on some social media platform passes as news. The newspaper is full of such stories, as if more entertaining real stuff isn't happening somewhere. A subtle racist. Yes. I know what you mean. I am a subtle litterer. The other day I did what I have done many times when there's no trash bin around. I withdrew food money from the ATM. Walking away with the receipt in my hand I tore it into many pieces destined for the pavement. But I didn't drop it all at once. Instead I slowly let it fly bit by bit so that one small piece of paper was spread out over nearly a whole block.

I remember one time in Hollywood, riding in the front seat with Stew Curtis who owned a big old Caddie. He's dead now. I liked the guy. Quite a character, very honest too. Well, we're driving on a small street in Hollywood and suddenly the electric windows are rolled down and Stew reaches to his side where he has a stack of b&w head shots of himself and tosses them out the window. I whipped my head around to see if a cop was nearby. I do not remember Stew looking through his side mirror or anything prior to the toss. It was a very casual and impulsive thing. I enjoyed it. He was not a subtle litterer, that's for sure. I looked back as soon as he tossed them and it was funny the way they blew in the wind. Maybe it wasn't littering.. Maybe it was a low level advertising campaign.
