Not well enough; I needed to google "hidato". (The objective is to fill
in blank cells so that 1, 2, ..., N form a continuous path. The original
version involves hexagons, so diagonals aren't an issue there.)

a nice puzzle is... Why is Hidato (Hidoku) not more popular today ?

if Will Shortz (or someone like him)
would publish [Easy Hidoku] books, i'd be interested !

i just realized that my local newspaper has 1.5 pages of Puzzles every day.
including Hidato

i wonder how newspapers monitor popularities of the Puzzles they carry
e.g.
------- which ones to drop
------- which new ones to pick up

--------- with Focus groups ?

( a demographically diverse group of people assembled to participate in a guided discussion about a particular product before it is launched, or to provide ongoing feedback on a political campaign, television series, etc.)
