I am a minimalist when it comes to dressing. I can dress well even with thirst store clothes although I lost interest in that years ago. Now it's all about comfort. Sure, I care about appearance to some degree - it's hard to totally escape vanity - but it's low on my priority list. I know one thing, I really hated the fashion scene of the 60s and 70s - the whole thing starting mostly with the outlandish bell bottoms, especially the dress up types with creases in them that made them look like Christmas bells swinging back and forth. The Afghan sweater came out around that time. Very unattractive. I like the look of dress from many different countries and think opening a store that sells such items would go over big. It doesn't even have to have been made in those countries as long as it is decent quality and is made with exacting dedication. Caps, sweaters, pants, whatever - I think it would be a good idea. In the same way that people going out to eat ask each other what they're up for - "How about some Chinese, maybe some Italian?" - in that same way a guy with a closetful of international attire can face each day with the same question. "Uh let's see here, what's it going to be today - Afghani, Chink, Russian, Scottish, bushman Negro, or what? What am I going to wear today?"

I wear the same thing every day. PJ bottoms. I am a minimalist.

I'm right there with you. I have not worn long pants in a good 5 years. I wear only shorts in the summer and shorts with long johns under them in winter. I have spent most of my life looking for a uniform - very similar to looking for the comfort zone and finding it but then things change and you have to go hunting for it again. Back when stuff I liked and could afford was on the shelves I didn't have enough money to buy a bunch of the same stuff. Now with the stimulus - I have half of it saved - I have the cash but can't find the goods. The shelves are barren. Lots of bullshit. I want plain, very plain. I am not kidding. I have indeed spent most of my life searching for a uniform and finding bits and pieces but never the whole thing, and then in time the bits and pieces would go out of style or whatever and disappear from the shelves. I buy my shorts at the thrift store. Way easier to find shorts that fit than long pants which have more that can go wrong, like the material being too tight in the knee or whatever. Anyway, it's my fault too, I don't have the energy to go hunting anymore. I know one thing. When you find something you like, something you really like, if you have the money you better buy enough to last a life time because next time you come back to the store looking for it it's going to be extinct. Extinct, just like me. I am wondering if there's a way to make shoes with cardboard or some kind of strong tape. Shoes are a major ripoff cost wise. Funny thing, even though I'm a thrift store guy for most things, I do willingly spend $20+ for wool socks because they can be worn more than once without washing and they hold up well and add good cushioning to even the cheapest shoes (if you can find them).

I used to wear pajama tops in public. Some of them make really nice shirts.. Especially when you're young and magnetic.

Some of my PJ bottoms have cartoon characters. Those are for formal wear.

A woman of my size is limited in what we can wear. Some men love it when
I wear spandex, others have told me they're revolted by the sight. Quite
often I wear a long, bright colored flowery dress. I am frequently at
odds with the Orthodox community over my choice of clothing. They'd
rather I get married, shave my head and wear a wig, and dress in the
most drab wardrobes known to mankind. I'd rather they'd go fuck
themselves and mind their business!

These shorts posts would make a good book. But they have to be short and on pretty much the same topic all the time, occasionally drifting off into other things stream of conscious style, but using the schizo taffy machine style of pulling you in two directions at the same time - one where you present yourself as proud of your body regardless of weight and size and shape, the other where you look in the mirror and cry yourself to sleep each night wishing you were a fashion model even if you had to go sub Twiggy in weight. I'm serious, the back and forth of it is entertaining. One minute, "I am what I am and I'm proud of it", the next, sobbing in the shadows, pausing to look in the mirror now and then but afraid that doing so might set you off on another crying jag. A small book. Short presentations revolving mostly around your weight without having to mention it all the time like those fat comics who can't talk about anything else. I'm trying to compliment you here and am having a hard time doing it - that's my schizophrenia - so for now I'll just skinny up my post and let you go your own fat way.

Yeah, attire is very low on my priority list. Appearance wise anyway. I would wear PJs with cartoon characters on them, or a sweat shirt, same thing.. Depends on the character. Bugs Bunny gets a yes. I bought a really thin cheap throw blanket at the "over a dollar" aisle at the dollar store for $5. It has cartoon characters on it. I would wear PJ bottoms in public, but only if they had elastic cuffs at the ankle. I would wear shorts over them. I was wearing this kind of shit years ago. I would see people staring at me. I even had some ask about the long johns, why I wear them. Now I'm seeing everyone wearing the same style. Was I a trend setter or just ahead of the times, or so far behind them that every thousand years or so I am lapped into the lead.

I dont think it is illegal to wear PJ in public. Underwear would get you in trouble but not jammies. No jam with jammies.

As long as your genitals are covered, anything goes. If I wish to
parade down the avenue wearing nothing but a thong, I would be well
within my legal right. Once you have that image in your head, it will
never leave you.

> I dont think it is illegal to wear PJ in public. Underwear would get you in trouble but not jammies. No jam with jammies.

The long johns I wear under shorts are considered underwear, and they look it if you get a close view. They are waffled. I prefer the smooth fabric long johns but they are hard to find. In fact, I'm having trouble finding any. Even more in fact, I'm having trouble getting out of the house to conduct the annoying search in the first place. When I wear the long john underwear under shorts in the winter, even though they are waffled and have that 'underwear' look, I wear only the black, so from a distance and even up close somewhat they look like tights. I like them loose - a variety around the house (when I have them) - not only for outside wear but also for around the house. The looser and older the better for home use - very comfortable and practical. Went to the web last week to once again conduct a search for long johns. They showed a wide variety. All too high in price. Marketing sucks. One of the presentations were long john bottoms with a special pouch for holding the cock. Come on, that's fucking insane, ain't no soft cock gonna stay in that pouch. What a gimmick. I'd like to get the addresses of anyone who bought them just to see what, if anything, they have in common. Maybe those long johns are for people who have had penile implants whose cocks are always hard.

"Oh come on Your Honor, nothing indecent about it at all. It was covered up, wasn't it?"

I don't like images that won't leave. Even good images can (and will) wear out their welcome in time. I agree, as long as the genitals are covered anything goes. But when it comes to skimpy attire in public, I am against it.. Some would think I'm a prude for that, but I'm looking way beyond that to the reality of what such openness might result in. Same goes with breast feeding. Anything where a woman is revealing parts of herself that might draw attention from lots of guys. Some guys are good at sneaking peeks. Others can't stop staring. Finally the breast feeding women cries out, "What the fuck are you looking at?", with an ultra victimized voice as heroes of all stripes pop out of the woodwork to beat the peeping tom to death for ogling without permission. Lots of violent assholes out there just waiting for a chance to go nuts under the name of justice and protection or whatever. I know, I've seen it. As a result, we as a society are not yet ready for skimpy attire on women. End of story.
