OT I just heard that at the voir dir in the hush-money election
interference trial of trump, prosepctive jurors will be asked about
their participation in social media, and maybe the news said their
social media history will be checked independently of what they're told.
I'm in the jury pool, even though I live in Baltimore, because I used to
vote in NYS and they want a larger than usual jury pool.

I'm expected to be there on Tuesday. 1) If they ask about social
media, do I have to include AHR or other windows, android, etc.
newsgroups? I don't think these are social media but I want to be sure.
2) If they check me out, will they be able to find out Micky's last
name? They can contact the news server, that has my full name, but will
they do that for every prospective juror?

I don't think google has this information and I don't want to hire a
lawyer.

(If anything, this might be anti-social media.)

3) Should I find him guilty or should I wait to hear what they say in
court?

Something's wrong with our jury system of justice. A jury of twelve
people can decide the fate of the accused, when the US, especially
Baltimore, is full of idiots like you. Twelve babbling idiots bang their
heads together in deliberation. Our American justice is a joke.

It seems the whole country is made up of a bunch of babbling idiots.
Just look at what we are sending to congress and the president
candidates. I do not care what party as both are not hitting on much.

I'm hoping all 12 of the jurors will be from Baltimore. We share a
wholesome view of the world. Plus, then we can carpool home for the
weekends.

FWIW, this place was built as an uninfluenced source of people's opinions.
It is hard to restrict free speech here.

From what I've heard AHR and other news groups aren't usually considered
social media as it is (a public forum) rather than the distilled and
manufactured views from a your given social media provider. But these are
the views from "traditional" media source consumers that don't have the
option of hearing all people talk.

I wouldn't be concerned about your views if the lawyers decide to check
them here.

Good luck with the jury selection process.

You've been trolled. They don't put former residents from Baltimore
on NYC Juries.

Well, as my U.S. citizen father liked to say, "The average American is a
high grade moron." Sort of comports with what you've said, just using
different words. Given that as a baseline, you should agree that the
majority of defendants are likewise morons and indeed are being tried by
a jury of their peers!

As far as Micky's probable tongue in cheek question (above), I think he
just disqualified himself from the jury if he is asked if he's ever made
such a prejudicial comment either verbally or in writing and answers
truthfully while under oath to do so.

Unless he's not actually a legal resident of Baltimore and is still
registered to vote in NYC.

I got summons to jury duty in Cleveland months after I left town. Wrote
back that I no longer lived there and never heard from them.

As for NYC, I often listen on line to WABC and they were saying one of
the jury questions was going to be what radio station prospective jurors
listened too. WABC is mostly conservative.

Times have changed. When I lived in NYC back in the late 60s, WABC
radio was mostly pop music and not a talk station if I remember correctly.

Quarter-trolled. I could have asked the question from the pov of a NY
resident, and it's a serious question about social media, but I thought
I'd make it more relevant to you all by putting myself in the center.
But where I talked about myself, you can take it to mean any resident of
NYC who reads newsgroups.

The question still remains.

Today I heard on the radio about the Dillon? Dylan? case in which one of
the jury members had posted on social media "trump is still my
president", but no one knew this at the voir dir and she was picked for
the jury and she became the lone? holdout against? conviction/judgment.
If they'd known what she'd posted, she would have been excused for
cause.

At this trial's voir dir, they will have people searching SM, they named
only iirc Facebook and Axios (sp?) but they didn't name AHR or even a
political newsgroup**, so I'm safe and so are the New Yorkers who post
to Usenet.

**I looked for one early on but people were too dogmatic and hostile
(like we turned out to be here, inclduing me sometimes) and I wanted
civil discussions.
