Most likely a solution to a problem that does not exist.

I bet that some company just convince to government that they needed
another place to make money from. Lots of retooling to make this gun and
ammunition.

Hi Ralph,

Pea shooters (M4's) do not shoot through off the
shelf body armor and have limited range. The Spear
(M7) is both a short barrel for clearing structures
and can reach out and touch someone. In Afghanistan,
our guys had to run through two hundred yards of
fire before their pea shooters could touch the enemy.

And the Spear is short stroke, not STUPID direct
impingement. Line them up and cut them down is
back. Pray and spray is gone.

And the optic: Yikes! Does everything for you.
Even works when the battery goes dead.

The Spear is long overdue.
