Blocknews was terrible right after the GG went down but seems to have
recovered. Maybe server overload?

I was going to switch to e-s but had problems setting it up for some
reason, but no reason to change now.

Looks like Blocknews recently underwent a short notice change of upstream Usenet
provider. That could be the culprit behind any irregularities lately. If so,
it's nothing to do with GG shutting down.
