I created a poem out of Ras' comments on me. One of those posts where he responds to one paragraph at a time, leaving it in above his own words. If they bury me when I die - I have no real way of knowing - it will be in the pauper's grave. I have no burial insurance and wouldn't buy it even if I could afford it.

The 4 winds, another one of many expressions most of us use, me included, without ever questioning its exact meaning. Why are there only 4 winds? Oh I see, because if the world were a square instead of a globe we'd have wind coming from all 4 sides. But even then there would be more than just 4 winds. Makes me think about how many places there are on our earth that are unlivable. At least without some kind of techno help. Then again, the Eskimos did alright without it for years. But how far north or south can people go without techno aid? I suppose one day even the most remote spots on earth will be inhabited, mostly by those with the big bucks I would guess. I don't go for the cremation thing. I know we probably don't feel a thing, but I just don't like it. Now, if it were in a huge pile of other corpses, in that case it might not be so bad. I just don't want to burn alone. Even with burial, the mass grave has a soft feel to it compared to the lone box routine, don't you think? Dying with other people all at the same time has that same equitable vibe to it, wouldn't you say.

Yes it would be funny with Santa and the Lord battling it out in the skies. Angels flutter all around Santa's sleigh to slow it down, bring it to justice. The Angels are God's militia. But Santa's Elves can fly too, although not as far as Angels. But the Elves are rougher. The Angels have had it too soft for too many years, flying around playing harps. The Elves worked hard in Santa's shop. So the battle in the sky between the Elves and the Angels will be a tough one to predict although I'm going with the Elves.

If they win on the basis of my meager support I will expect something extra from Santa this year.
