Looking to replace the part of my ball trough that the balls sit on. Aiming to keep the part where the plunger is and simply attaching new part to this existing part. Balls hang sometimes due to some minor divots so going with the replacement. Appears to be two types: 1) as per original design with flat V shape and 2) rails with less surface area. Seems that 2 is the upgraded design but thought I'd check here first in case others have had any experience etc. And BTW, I have been using a part I purchased a while ago that simply sits on top of the original trough that is supposed to provide a flat area but am finding it is just a little too high so when there is any expansion due to weather etc then the ball actually touches the top of the machine and hangs in that way. Happening more recently lately so thinking changes in temperature may be the cause as the wood and/or metal expands and contracts. So thought what the hell, let's just go with a complete replacement. So would be interested to hear about other owners experience. Thanks.

You can remove your ball trough. Remove the end bracket with the coil/plunger. Stick a big flat file in there and file the grooves smooth.

Or stick one of these in there - https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-16809
