OK, let's put the hyperventilating article into context. In the
article, it was written that 1,569,668 complications were reported after
mRNA Covid vaccination. That number includes any and every complication
that the patient chose to report, and the reporting system doesn't
require verification/validation by a licensed physician. Someone with a
black and blue bruise could file a report. Although under-reporting of
all cases is likely, it is also likely that some of the reported
complications are so common and so trivial that the approx. 1.5 million
number is entirely useless for the purposes of statistical analysis. If
the authors of the cited study were more rigorous, they would have noted
that their suspicion of under-reporting of the total number of
complications would reduce the apparent incidence of POTS after the mRNA
jab and therefore weaken their own conclusion. Of course they chose not
to mention that.

Also, it's an established fact in medical science as well as common
experience that various diseases develop in seemingly healthy
individuals at random times and often for no identifiable reason. When
the disease progresses to the point when it presents symptoms serious
enough that a definitive diagnosis can be made, that's when it is said
that the patient "has" the disease or condition. However, the exact
time when the disease first began to change the patient's tissues and/or
metabolic processes cannot be determined because at that time, the
changes were insufficient to cause symptoms identifiable either to the
patient or to a physician. Therefore, although there may appear to be a
link between a circumstance, event, exposure etc. and a specific
diagnosis, Statistically, a certain percentage of patients with a
specific diagnosis will have that disease appear coincidentally with a
suspected exposure to something. That doesn't prove the the exposure
caused the disease. The article even defines these complications of
concern as "extremely rare". In fact, copying and pasting from the
actual, original Science article, "Still, Chung stresses that this paper
and other data also suggest COVID-19 vaccines protect against POTS and
other Long Covid symptoms..."

So big news. An extremely rare complication may be related to
vaccination with a highly effective, life-protective vaccine. Why are
some people more afraid of a rare non-fatal complication than a highly
contagious infectious disease with a high serious disability and death rate?

A self-reported retrospective study can suggest a trend, perhaps an
association, but is not reliable when trying to establish causality. A
double-blind prospective study with two well matched cohorts of
sufficient subject size to yield statistically significant data would be
far more convincing, and may not be a difficult study to do. After all,
there are a substantial number of people who are ambivalent; not sure if
they believe the vaccines are effective but not strenuously anti-vax.
They may be willing to receive jabs either of sterile saline or real
vaccine and then be followed medically for the development of new
disease diagnoses. Doses could be prepared with codes identifying their
contents by unblinded pharmacists who could ensure that subsequent doses
would provide subjects with the same content (saline or vaccine) as
their initial dose. That study would be worth publishing.
