Japan sees peril in U.S. chip hub to counter China - the country's share of global chip manufacturing has fallen from a half to a tenth as it leaked customers to cheaper rivals and failed to maintain a lead in cutting edge production. As China and the United States, driven by a trade war and security concerns, ramp up support for the manufacturing of chips that run everything from smartphones to missiles, officials worry Japan will be squeezed out altogether.

Hence, here it explains that chip is ultimately about price, quality,
quantity.

The eventual outcome from these comes from:

1. Price - ability to improve and sustainable cost efficiency from mass
production, in order to stay ahead of the competition.

2. Quantity - capability in flexible manufacturing, scaling up and down of
mass volume quantity output from consistent use of efficient cutting edge
production technology,

3. Quality - attention to detail, ensuring consistent product innovation
sustained ahead to meet changing needs and demands for various uses by
customers.

4. and finally, ensuring there is support of supply chains in the
manufacturing supply of innovative tools and efficient equipment to supply
support them.

As Japan's share of world's chip production has declined to 10%, Japan is
concerned about line no. 4.

Japan worried their supply chain of suppliers on hardware, tools, equipment,
materials, and consumables in Japan will not have enough business orders
from their own chip production plant in Japan.

Henceforth, Japan wants to increase its own chip production capability in
order to sustain their own supply chain of suppliers in Japan with
sustainable business environment.

However, looking at No.1, 2 and 3, Japan will not be able to sustain them
for long. Even the Taiwanese chip plant in US will not be able to meet
criteria the above no. 1, no.2, no 3 for very long time to come.

Price of chips will be very high and the cost will pass on the the customers
buying from them.

However, China will be the most price efficient when they speed up their own
high volume capability to meet their own competitive demands and also
competitively price to serve the world's demands.

China has a range of very good manpower flexibility and capability. With
fine eye and hand work, they are able to flex, changing of job, and adapting
to skill new capability.

Also, China has big economic capacity to produce hardware, tools and
equipment, to support the growth of their chip plants being expanded
to-date.

Henceforth, US and Japan will not be able to sell to China at the price they
want, when China's chip plants will be able to produce their own unique
chips for their own products.

Japan and US will not be competitive and even have to produce according to
China's specifications instead, and also to sell to China at China's chip
plants' price.

At the end of the day, China is the ultimate winner, as they can meet price,
quantity, and quality. The rest in the US and Japan will have to follow and
bide to selling to China at China's market price for chips.

The problem for China is:
The equipment to make the chips are primarily made in the U.S. and the Netherland.
Donald Trump "outlaw" selling them to China!!!!

Even before Trump, Chinese companies like SMIC had trouble getting the latest and greatest equipment from the US, EU and Japan. But they still do pretty well.
