81% margin of error. Speaking of margins of error and fact checking and all that crap, some newspapers are now presenting articles in that format - the headline is a question and their article answers it. How convenient. At the end of the report the final paragraph is labeled "Myth" or "Fact" along with an explanation of the conclusion. I do not read those articles. I got a decent amount of non political, non virus, non social justice articles out of today's paper. It's hit and miss. It's like there's only 3 or 4 genuine news stories in the world and one way or another they're going to show up in everything they write. Today I saw an article I thought might be interesting, can't remember what it was, something about people living in a certain area. But within two paragraphs they managed to swing the virus into it. Even today after all these years looking at the paper they still manage to get me now and then. But not for long.

Perhaps I was naive to believe anything I heard as news. I follow less news than ever yet I feel more up to date. I listen to the people. Like the Joads as they pass through the road side rest stops on the way to California. They got the real news.

Dust be thy destiny mother fucker. Maybe I'm just noticing this shit more now. Maybe it has always been around on the same level. But I doubt it. I am not a grammar hound, not by a long shot. I can deal with typos and misspellings, etc., but they are more prevalent now than ever in the papers. I think it's because they write this stuff digitally and are able to go back and edit stuff quickly, making all kinds of mistakes in the process. Also I believe their audience is composed mostly of idiots, of which I am one. But I believe they are even more stupid today. Look at the people they listen to. The music they bow to. Their cinema heroes. Worse than ever.. At the same time I know that among all these stupid followers are a few rare people with taste who will emerge from the scum of their generation just as I emerged from mine.

It has been a downward spiral. The likes of Spillburg and Hanks tried to lead us up to a higher purpose. It was not to be. They failed. But the new kids as they trans into other forms will make it this time. See it on Facebook before it is too late.

Tom and Steve did not fail. They opened the door for others to continue their fight to make the greatest and most evocative films of all time. Yes, the new kids coming up are going to take it higher, no question. But they need to remember they stood on the shoulders of giants to do it. The shoulders of guys like Hanks and Spielberg. The young guns need to remember this. And the best of them will because the best of all generations know and respect the artists who came before them. Such is the wonder of art in all its glory.

But who are the new guns? I been out of the loop because of the covid. I have not been to a movie in years now. And TV where many start is not the same. Now it is some rapper trending on the Twitter who is the great influencer. I have never been more worried about the future of cinema than I am right now. Oh how I lament the times.

Cinema is dead and I'm glad. Think about it - the filthy seats, the loud crowd, the ever present danger of trench coat wearing psychos with an automatic weapons bursting through the exits guns a blazing. Fuck the movies.

Yes we are into the young guns. We've got our eyes on a few. Some stand out. Times are different now. We don't go by name so much as experience. "Have you seen his work?", one producer might ask another referring to a young gun whose name is not known to either of them. And that's the way they want it. They look at the work. Clips. Video auditions. No names anymore - no taking someone on just because of his name. Times are looking good for the arts. And believe me, movie making is an art. I know, I'm involved big time and I am a big time artist.

It is an art and a science. Remember they call it the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. So it requires scientist. I am part scientist and part artist. Maybe more arty than science. How arty are you?

I am the embodiment of art. I cannot be defined by label. I am art all the way around. Always have been. I wasn't born that way. I had to work at it. But it wasn't work when I did it. It came easy to me. Then everyone started telling me how artistic I was at all kinds of stuff - "A true artist!", or whatever - and I started to believe them and took it too far, always striving to be even more artistic over the years till one day finally it dawned on me that I don't need to try, I am the real deal, a real artist - and ever since I have been very happy with my position in the world of art although my admirers now think I suck. To be a true artist one must suffer, and it can't be on purpose. I want to turn you into a true artist. Are you ready? Let's do this thing.
