New discoveries are helping scientists face this challenge

This is VERY good to know ... the traditional
groups of antibiotics are BARELY adequate these
days, sometimes just useless.

Oh, they LOVE to blame antibiotic resistance on
"over-prescription", but it really isn't that -
it's the mass use in AGRICULTURE. All those
pig/chicken/cow/sheep farms POUR 'em on - even
illegally - and such environs are PERFECT to
rapidly breed and spread resistant mutants.

The Chinese RUINED a good anti-flu drug because
chicken farmers poured it on their flocks to
ward off variants of bird flu. For the farmers
it was kinda life and death, comfortable life
or poverty, so we can see WHY - but the downstream
effects .........
