This Latham person is trying to turn our group into some kind of Jew haven. By that I don't mean she wants only Jews here, but she does want the conversations to swirl around them, and if possible in some way ultimately around her. She posted a response into our beloved newsgroup that came from some kind of political group from 2003. I saw you reference Haitians the other day but didn't know the deal about them till I saw it in yesterday's paper. It feels good to not know about this shit but to have it available for when you want it. Funny, I saw they're heading toward Mexico. Crossing the Rio Grande. They will replace the losers that crossed the same river in the opposite direction to the US. If enough of them wind up in Mexico, some peons thinking about coming to the US will now rethink their plans with the arrival of people lower than themselves on the pole to be kicked around.

It's an interesting island, the one with Haiti and the Dominican Republic on it. Why won't the Dominicans let their neighbors in? They can recruit them into their army and overtake the whole island. It is odd the way that island is shared by two different countries. Also interesting that (as far as I know) there has been no major conflict between them. Probably has at some point. Anyway, I wonder how the Dominican Republic is reacting to the immigrants. The immigrants probably know not to mess with them. I am not following the story, there are too many of them worldwide to keep up. It is interesting though, people getting in boats and drifting from country to country looking for a home. I can feel sorry for them but I can also suspect they could be the dregs of whatever society they crawled out of.
