Instead of an American, Fabiano Caruana, battling Magnus Carlsen in an attempt to bring the World Championship further west, this time his challenger will be (gasp) a Russian, Ian Nepomniachtchi.
Who also happens to be perhaps the only player with a plus record against Carlsen!
As this will be hard-fought, perhaps there will be almost as many draws as the last time, but _one_ feature of the previous championship - where an over-confident Carlsen ended up with a lost game, but fortunately for him, if not the spectators, Caruana missed the win - is likely to be absent. No doubt Carlsen has learned his lesson, and will be in no danger of losing like the hare did against the tortoise.
