PERRY COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) � A police officer died early Monday at a
hospital near Indiana�s border with Kentucky, Indiana State Police
announced Monday.

Tell City Police Sgt. Heather Glenn, 46, responded just after midnight to
a reported disturbance at Perry County Memorial Hospital, ISP said at a
press conference. Gunfire was reportedly exchanged, killing Glenn along
with the suspect, 34-year-old Sean Hubert.

According to a release from ISP, Glenn was investigating a domestic
dispute that took place between Hubert and a female victim Sunday, which
left the female victim hospitalized. Glenn spoke with the female victim at
the hospital which led to a search for Hubert. The female victim then
contacted hospital staff to alert them that Hubert was on the way to the
hospital early Monday morning.

Tell City Police Department, Perry County�s Sherriff�s Office, and
Cannelton Police Department responded to the hospital. Glenn made contact
and attempted to arrest Hubert. After Hubert refused to comply Glenn
attempted to deploy an electronic controlled weapon which was ineffective.
During this struggle, Hubert produced a firearm, resulting in Glenn being
shot and officers of Tell City and Cannelton returning fire. Both Hubert
and Glenn were treated for their injuries but died on the scene.

Glenn was a 20-year veteran with the Tell City Police Department and Perry
County Sheriff�s Department.

Tell City Police say Glenn was the first full-time female officer at their
department. Her father, Bob Glenn, is a retired Sergeant from the same
department.

Governor Eric Holcomb made a statement on the fallen officer:

Another officer has fallen victim to the senseless act of violence. I urge
Hoosiers to remember Tell City Police Sgt. Heather Glenn who gave the
ultimate sacrifice for the safety of others. She dedicated nearly 20 years
to serving the citizens of Perry County and Tell City and now her family
needs our love and support more than ever.

Janet and I will hold her loved ones in our hearts during this painful
time as they try and find peace and solace.

GOVERNOR HOLCOMB
Jared Stimpson, CEO of Perry County Memorial Hospital, said they are
continuing to monitor the impacted area and prioritizing the safety and
well-being of their team members.

Indiana State Police is still investigating the shooting.
