That's mostly due to mail-in ballots becoming a means for many people
to vote starting in 2020 with Covid. I agree it just leads to more controversy
and problems.

What and where? The claims I've seen have been bases on BS, like Trump
demanding that all vote counting stop on election night 2020, when he was
ahead because the Republicans mostly went to the polls as directed by Trump
and those votes were in . He didn't want the mail-in ballots that were in the
Democrats favor to be counted, which still had to be counted. And as they were,
of course the vote shifted, but there wasn't anything strange about it. Trump
was told this would happen and he planned ahead of time to try to use it to
steal the election, to start the stolen election lie.
