I never mentioned this before, too ashamed I guess. Too afraid of being challenged or called out as a weirdo of some kind just because my father spent his whole life in jail for skinning his girlfriend alive. I was too young to attend his trial but I have the court manuscripts to this day.

Prosecutor: "Why? Why did you skin her? Could you not just as easily have shot her to death or found some other less painful way?"

Father: "I appreciate your questions. But you don't understand. I did not want her to feel pain. I did not kill her out of anger."

Prosecutor: "Then why man? For the love of God, why?"

Father: "I loved the chick and she said she loved me. But I had been lied to in the past. Then on top of it all I hear from most ladies is, 'I only care about what's inside a man, I'm not concerned about outward appearance..' ..... Well guess what? I am no different. I care about what's on the inside too. When I asked my Lady for her hand in holy matrimony she said she would have to wait to see what I look like 'on the inside'. I told her I felt the same way. Then I went into my back pocket and came out with a fishing knife and gutted her open for a quick look. That's all I wanted (now to the Judge) - I swear to God Your Honor, all I wanted was a quick peak to see what my Lady looked like inside."

"Prosecutor: "Well, did you like what you saw?"

Father: "No, it was hideous, all kinds of organs and stuff, weird stuff I never saw before. I didn't mean for her to die. I thought the skin would grow back. The skin is an organ, you know - the biggest organ in the human body. I didn't know that till this happened and I read all about it. Look, I'm being honest with you people, I admit I did wrong and I apologized. Isn't that enough? Why the inquisition, man - why the 12th degree all the time?"

Then the transcript said something about my father launching himself over the guardrail in front of the Judge's bench before he was shot in the legs and paralyzed for the rest of his life - in prison. He later encountered racial problems in prison and had to join a gang for protection. He became a "Skin-Head"....

As they say in show biz "that's an awful long way to go for a punch line".

I don't do punchlines Bozo. You're right though, that one seemed to have a punchline, didn't it? But it wasn't planned. My stuff may suck but I write it strictly on the fly - no pressure, no demands, no subject line unless there's one worth sticking to.

Now let's get serious. Fuck the predictable back and forth bullshit. Let's talk about what really counts. Not whether my tale was an awful long way to go for a punchline but rather, "Did you read it all the way?" This is important. See, I don't care if you read it all the way or not. I am more concerned with the truth, your truth if I can muster it out of you - or possibly somewhere down the road beat it out of you. If necessary.

My point is this Bozo. Sure I know any discerning person can tell in a short time whether what they're reading or watching or listening to is going to be something they like. Most of us will only go so far before calling it quits. "God, this is boring. What the fuck am I doing reading this shit?" Did you do that? Or did you in fact read my entire story? And if so, did you do it because you were looking for a punchline? If so it is your fault for placing unfair expectations on my output. People who look for punchlines deserve to get punched all the way back to a long way to go for punch line number two. I just read my little story for the first time. I thought it was entertaining in a mild way. Not worth putting down. Why Bozo? Why the negativity all the time? I am trying to help you here, to help create a better Bozo not just for everyone in the world but especially for you. You Bozo, it's all about you. Remember that.

Thomas, your devotion to Bozo is witnessed every day by all who read our
forum. He can't ask for a better friend. In that light, you should take
another look at what Bozo was trying to tell you. Every story needs a
punch line, especially since your work is consuming a few minutes of
someone's otherwise busy life. You owe them a moral to the story. You
owe the people a heart-wrenching, all encompassing closing that people
will remember what you said 100 years from now. Are you up to the task
or are you just another Usenet loud mouth?

I'll answer the second question first. I am not just another Usenet loud mouth and do not like being compared to them on any level in any way. As for the first question, am I up to the task - the answer is no, I am not up to the task and hope never to be. I don't like tasks. I do agree that I ramble. And it's selfish. I do it for me. Of course I want others to enjoy it too. But it's mostly for myself. As for punchline - who needs 'em? If the story is good - and I'm not saying mine are, except for the real stories from my life which you will know when you see them - if the story is good it doesn't need any punchline. This isn't about jokes, man. This about art. The art of doing things your own way in a way that other people like.. I would say honestly that my main flaw in writing this stuff is mostly that i don't edit. I don't even read before sending. I read my posts later when they are responded to. I even read my own post before I read the other person's post. I think I'm just kidding there, sort of. I sometimes read my own words first, but I think usually I read the other person's post first. Anyway, I do not read my words before hitting the send button. Later I see the flaws. Not just the flaws within the flaw but the big flaw itself, that the post shouldn't have been written in the first place. That way, guy's like Bozo will never see my posts and will not be able to critique my writing. In other words I think you guys could be right but I'm too lazy and selfish to do anything about it - and I admit it.
