I was there years ago and remember many cars on the beach. They were
rear wheel drive and ok on wet sand but bogged when dried. One asked me
and coworker I was with for a push but then when wheels spun we got sand
thrown at us. We turned down others asking for help. Stupid place to
drive.

When I was a kid, my dad loved to drive dune buggies.
Pismo Beach was his favourite. YUGE rear wheels,
so we never got bogged down.

Are you seriously trying to compare the enormous benefit from cars, with guns
that we really could do without? The deaths from guns and all vehicle accidents
each year is about the same. The benefit we get from the vehicles is many orders
of magnitude greater that that from guns in the hands of the public. But thanks

When I was a kid an aunt and uncle had a cottage at the beach in DE and
a four wheel drive Jeep and we could drive anywhere on the beach to surf
fish.

Now, somewhat like Daytona, only certain areas are reserved for beach
access by vehicles and there is a yearly fee and all annual permits sell
out in a day.

I don't know. The year after college my girlfriend's roommate was
talking about someone she met at a party. A cop, iirc. Acc. to her, he
said, "When I have my gun on, I know I'm a man." How can you replace a
priceless benefit like that? How can you even compare its enormous
