would reduce oil prices today. Or would have prevented the pandemic
(where production dropped sharply) and the Ukrainian war (which
added to the reduced production) from impacting the current price
of oil. Not to mention the astronomical profits being reaped by

And don't bother with the keystone line, all that oil is still
reaching the US via rail, and the pipeline wouldn't be transporting
oil for years. So any policy decisions around the pipeline cannot
have had any impact on the price of oil _today_.

As for ANWAR, the amount _known_ reserves there is zero. The
companies that drilled the test wells have never released the
data, even to the government.

incentive to add refining capacity (a very large capital outlay
requiring a decade or more to completion). Refining capacity is
down from its peak in early 2020.

First I would start by getting oil industry leaders to DC and ask them what
they need to get production up as quickly as possible, what can i do to help,
what do you need from the government. And then I would do whatever is
in my power to do what they need. The old fool hasn't even done that,
instead like all Democrats he tried to blame them. Even worse just about a
week ago he made a statement where he views this crisis as just a normal
long term process of moving to renewables.

Biden needs to get on TV an address the American people. Explain that
while he's committed to reducing CO2 in the longer term, it's not going to
happen overnight and in the meantime we need to get oil production UP.
Explain that he understands people are hurting, the
economy is in jeopardy and that he's taking emergency measures. Those
include:

Reversing his stupid decision on the XL pipeline. That alone will speak volumes,
way beyond the oil that will flow in the one pipeline. It will demonstrate that
he's come off his insane radical green agenda, at least temporarily

Order EPA to come up with exec orders he can sign to allow drillers to cut
through EPA red tape so they can start drilling within a month, not having
to go through the whole drawn out EPA approval. Have it apply to drillers
that have been in business for X years and have good environmental
compliance records.

Look at opening up new areas, whatever is under federral control
and then do it. That incluces ANWR.

Get on the phone with Saudi Arabia and the rest of OPEC where we have
influence and explain that they need to open the valves quickly and hint
that if they don't, maybe the US won't save them from Iran.

Call on Congress to pass a special tax credit for investors in new oil wells
started over the next two years.

If there are problems with needed equipment, use the defense production
act if necessary.

BS is over and the oil markets would react to it, just as they reacted
when the old fool killed XL. I love the lib XL pipeline excuse, but, but
but, it would take years! We'd have it now if Biden had not killed it.

The only reason the amount of reserves are unknown is because the
radical libs have prevented us from finding out.

It's the Democrats choice. Either do this now or take what will be one
of the worst defeats in political history in November, which will be the
end of the Democrats getting anything passed and then lose the WH
too in 2024, possibly with Trump returning. And then the Republican
president and Congress will do what needs to be done. The only thing
Biden hasn't done yet is to go on TV and blame the American people like

The Republican solution to a lack of refining capacity would be to pass
tax credits for investment in new refinery capacity made in the next two
years. And to cut through all the EPA BS so that they can get going quickly.
We had the same thing in the late 70s, oil crisis. Jimmy Carter's solution
was to impose a windfall profits tax, put on a sweater and blame the
American people. Reagan came into office, got rid of Jimmy's tax,
praised the oil industry, opened up leasing, worked with them instead of
against them and within a few years we had $5 a barrel oil. And that's
what's coming for you Democrats again, apparently you want to commit
political suicide again. With this incredible level of stupidity, we could
very well see Trump back again and if we do, it's on you Democrats.

Oil producers don't want to increase production. Gas prices aren't just
about the price of crude.

That article was written about why there is a slow DECLINE in oil prices
at the pump in response to increase in oil production and decrease in crude.
And in it they clearly state that the cost of crude accounts for 59% of the cost
at the pump. We've all seen gas prices rise and decline in response to the
cost of crude, so IDK what your point is.

According to whom? The Saudis are notorious for refusing to do what
they can or being very slow to do it. That cite says that they are finally
about to do something, not that they have done all that they can. Biden and
the Democrats would rather pay OPEC for oil and create jobs there, instead
of generating more US oil output.

If the Saudis don't like it, too bad. We need to do what we need to do
and they have relied on the US for protection for decades. They owe
us help when we need it.

The crazy libs are insisting that this has to be done right now, at the
cost of enormous pain to the American people, destruction of the
economy, the resulting recession or worse. We have a short term
crisis and the libs not only won't address it, they like it. They think
everybody should just go out and buy a $40K new electric vehicle
right now, even though they can't afford it, we don't have the vehicle
capacity, we don't have the electric generation or infrastructure.

I predict we will, though it may take three years and a Republican president
