The singular distinction
Of multi faceted versatility
Is seen most distinctly
In the works of James Dean
And Marlon Brando
............as we all know

But there are others
Unknown pioneers from the past
Whose names remain unknown to most
Whose legacy must be told and passed down
To future generations

And I'm not talking about just actors
I'm talking about guys devoted to all aspects of the method
As it applies to art and life in general
Which is what's it's really all about
And has been from the start

Dean was not an actor
Brando was not an actor
These titans of talent could not ever be labeled
Not really

But the average clod cannot understand
And therefore fully respect talent in its many forms
Unless it is compartmentalized and labeled in some way

Thus we call Brando and Dean actors
And of course they were spectacular in their endeavors in that field
But they went far beyond that
We know that
Anyone who is anything in the biz
Not just show biz but the biz of life in general
Knows that Marlon and Dean were bit players in a large cast of thousands
Who, working together in unison, devoted to one and the same thing
The promulgation of art - the emulsification of education - the need to learn
To move forward
To grasp the future with fists of steel
Ruff hewn and calloused tough from
Clawing our way out of the pit of the past
6 feet down packed in tight
Our resolve to reemerge cicada style every so many years
To keep the past alive in a world hellbent on destroying itself
In a collision with the future

I hate when an actor like Dean dies young and never has the chance to become a washed up could have been.

I thought of Dean yesterday while watching "The Match Game" or whatever with Alec Baldwin hosting with the skinny mic Gene Rayburn used to use. Insane looking thing, never saw anyone other than Rayburn use it. I think I may have recognized one celebrity out of the bunch. One was a woman named Rumor. I assume it was Bruce Willis's daughter who I believe was named Rumor. What a fucking egotist. He named his kid after a character from a movie - "To Kill a Mockingbird", one of the most over rated films of our time. Anyway, yes, it is not hard to imagine Dean or any of those clowns from that era or any era doing such shows. I always assumed the draw to the game shows was regular people having a chance to win money. Now the celebrities have taken over, all playing for their favorite charities. Such shows are so bad they can be enjoyable at times especially since they are only half an hour long.

The unknown celebrity, has been or never was or will be, has been around a long time but really hit it's peak after Covid and all those fuckers out of work. It is not a matter of opinion, it's true. While these types of celebs have traditionally been flawed or outdated in some way, today it's worse than ever with off spring of famous nobodies showing up as celebrities with no scene credits at all, only their names. Rumor Willis. Funny stuff.
