Got some OTC arthritis meds yesterday at Walmart. I didn't feel any improvement, but when it came time to sleep I was able to find a few positions that weren't absolute killers. They make me feel queazy though. I am not afraid of narcotics. I know anyone can become addicted to anything. That includes me of course. But I think some hard core drugs are actually in some ways safer with less side effects than some of the OTC crap they're selling. Ever go into a store thinking you're like the only one on earth with a certain problem, or one of only a handful? Then you go to the aisle to find the product you're after and it's one brand or another of the same type stuff taking up the whole aisle. In just one store. Then imagine all the stores in town. Then imagine all the towns. I guess there's a lot of people out there suffering from all kinds of stuff.

Yeah, and I think aspirin has less side effects than its cousins that came later, all the stuff you see in the "Pain" aisle. My uncle used to say, "If aspirin were invented today instead of the turn of the century it would cost $20 a pill." Exaggerated or not I know what he meant. I still say some drugs are nothing but glorified aspirin. Like blood thinners, Cumadin and so forth. They come with the warning, "Do not take if you're taking aspirin." That tells me aspirin by itself is probably strong enough. I'll bet there's lots of products out there that are the same except for minor changes to keep it legal and aboveboard or whatever. I feel strongly about tobacco, the same way. I smoked more than anyone I ever met but was never against the companies even if they were full of shit. The tobacco industry that once ran this town has been replaced by two huge hospitals and hundreds of clinics in their name spread out across the city. To me they are way more treacherous than tobacco ever was. In fact today to subsidize themselves they are calling for smokers to line up and get paid to be in some of their government funded 'studies.' What a disgusting industry.

I wouldn't doubt it. As a self anointed intuitive genius I always believed there were good healthy almost necessary things in products considered otherwise unhealthy. Like caffeine and nicotine both - they have their healthy benefits in mild to moderate use. The scientists - our Gods - have even admitted it. Nicotine is not the culprit with smoking, it is only the addicting agent. Anyone with a brain even in their pre teen years has to know that taking anything into their lungs other than air on a regular basis has to be bad for you. I knew it. I didn't need any surgeon general to tell me about it. Look at all the medical garbage they're hawking on tv, all those pills with bad side effects. People are addicted to that crap whether they know it or not. Some people, when they come off drugs like Prilosec (example), the condition that turned them to the drug becomes even worse. I can only hope I don't ever become sick enough to need any of the crap these fuckers are churning out. I already feel down on myself enough just for using the OTC pain meds which I can tell already are doing quite the number on my stomach. But I can't get the narcotics now - too tired to make the effort at the moment - so I'm rolling with the OTC stuff. Most people, if they live long enough and remain strong enough to die tough - meaning with a lot of resistance, i.e. pain and stress - even the most ardent anti druggers in those final agonizing minutes will be begging for morphine or any of it's deviates to ease them out.

I took it for maybe a month after the antibiotics against the H. Pylori thing which is a huge fraud as it turns out as over half the people on earth have it and 90% of them have no symptoms. Sounds pretty meaningless to me. But it's something that can be seen. Tested. Biopsied, whatever. Less searching. Everything cut and dried. I figured I'd go along with a while. But I never had upper GI problems. Another guy ("get a second opinion", they tell me), prescribed me Linzess even though I am not constipated. The 3rd guy tells me I have SIBO. Sounds cool. "Ok", I said, "I give up, what does it mean?", and he told me: 'Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth.' Anyway, I guess some people do actually need things and are a point in their life where taking beats not taking. But in general I have not only read, but heard first hand reports on the negative side from people who used that drug for a decent length of time.

Sometimes the body gets out of tune. Like a car. Usually just needs a good cleaning and the timing set. Next time go to a mechanic. Prefarabely an ASCE guy. Do not take chances.

Seems like the colonoscopy business really took off right around the time enema bags stopped hanging from people's bathroom doors. Yes, a good old fashioned clean out could be in order. Gotta be careful though. Sometimes a cleaning can go too deep. A really gunned up car engine for example. You gotta be really careful. Remove too much filth at one time and the whole engine falls apart.

I have officially surrendered to death. I fear no disease, only it's bad symptoms. Some diseases might have good symptoms, who knows? Like for a half year or so you're feeling really good. Better than you have your entire adult life. You don't know why and you don't care. Then slowly the good feelings start to dim and are replaced by increasingly bad ones. It's like the calm before the storm. It's the dream before the scream. But really, other than feeling bad - if I can somehow control that - then by all means I am ready to go any time and will leave you with these words: You will be missed.

There are nearly 8 billion people on earth. Not everyone is the same. Out of that vast number could there be that one rare bird who is able to remain calm in the face of death no matter how he's facing it? For example, he discovers he has been buried alive. He is not happy about it but his motto through life had always been "Yo, it is what it is", and he is not about to change now. So he simply curls up and goes to sleep as the air supply in the box slowly dwindles his life away. In this same vein I have often wondered, "Is there anyone alive who could go down in a giant passenger jet and continue in the final minute or two to read the last page of a book he had been reading before the plane takes the downward plunge?" Out of 8 billion I'm sure there have got to be some who are cool enough under pressure to not only accept the final moment but to embrace it and even groove on it.
