Inasmuch as Thanksgiving Day is both in the USA as well as Canada--where as most of y'all know, it's an October celebration--is calendarically a "floating" holiday, I thought it would be interesting to find someone's (hopefully) meticulously-compiled list of notables who died on Thanksgiving Day through the decades and post it here.

But, to quote a lyric of the now-feuding* Hall & Oates: "I can't go for that; no can do."

Obviously, the floating aspect makes it inherently difficult to assemble, of course, for you just can't poach one of those sloppy "Famous deaths on November 23rd" lists, which typically are just slapped together without the compiler bothering even to consult other sources to weed out the almost-inevitable errors. [Good ol' Milhous aide (and clumsy-called) H.R. ("Bob") Haldeman being a fine recent example of this syndrome, somehow ending up erroneously on a November 11th Armistice Day list even though he apparently expired on November 12th.]

To do it right, you'd have to check every calendar year to confirm which date a given year's Thanksgiving fell on (as I'm pretty sure the third-Thursday-in-November rule might have the occasional exception going all the way back to the Abraham Lincoln Administration).

New Year's Day, Valentines Day, Christmas and all the others of course ALSO float, but only through the seven-days-of-the-week sequence--and since always falling on the same numerical day of the month are much easier for anyone compiling such a list.

So simple allergic-to-rigor sloth is why I can't find even such a USA Thanksgiving deaths list, much less one that includes the Thanksgiving-fallen for both societies? (It's CERTAINLY why I've not put together my own for y'all!)

Variety reports that the pop duo has NOT dissolved, notwithstanding their legal fight! (There is also zero clue as to what this is all about; I gather these Pennsylvania guys are fighting it out in a Tennessee court.)

I was startled to read they've toured together as recently as thirteen months ago, and aren't even officially kaput as an act; will there be an mini-replica of Trump's would-be wall on the stage during their next concert tour?
