These over-celebrated Hollywood husbands are no longer husbanding their relationship.

Their* fizzled friendship was longer-lived than the whirlwind Ethel Merman/Ernest Borgnine flight of fancy for sure, but not by that much.

This cloying Gage/Apple split story raises a thoroughly-inconsequential issue I've wondered about from time to time:

Didn't stereotypical hair-stylists-to-the-stars used to be stereotypically straight rather than gay? I mean, Warren Beatty's character in "Shampoo" is about as far from homosexual as one can be! And wasn't his character widely said to be based on Mansion family massacre victim Jay Sebring? (And I gather slain Sebring was "far from" being gay too, no?)

And do male gays these days gravitate merely to hair STYLIST careers, or do they disproportionately take up simple barbering as well?

(To lessen my ignorance of gay culture, maybe I should subscribe to The Advocate, assuming that all-things-gay magazine hasn't gone the way of most other magazines.)
