Reached the news here too. The US armed forced are short of several
hundred generals and admirals because one stubborn Republican senator
is blocking all appointments over the abortion issue.
The newly appointed female admiral will have to wait in line.

with an unsecured firearm that was lying around in the bedroom,

Most Americans have not done wrong in this case. Only the ones who voted
for Marjorie Taylor Greene. From the reports I've seen, they soundly
deserve the punishment.

That's true, but it's a pointless observation. Her "colleagues" in
this context would be the other Republican members of the House
Freedom Caucus. They have ousted her from that group and "finished"
her in that capacity.

Her colleagues in the House - whether or not they be members of the
HFC - would not be involved in her reelection other than to perhaps
provide an endorsement. If it was determined by her party that she
should be "finished" as a Representative, there might be an effort to
have her primaried by a more electable person, but that is not an
action by her colleagues in the House.
