The vocalist and guitarist Rick Froberg, who is known for fronting post-hardcore bands like Hot Snakes and Drive Like Jehu, has died aged 55. Froberg’s longtime collaborator in both bands, John Reis, took to Instagram to confirm his death. He wrote: “Rick passed away suddenly last night [June 30th] from natural causes. His art made life better. The only thing he loved more than art and rock n roll was his friends.”

I'm pretty sure I know what the rock subgenre known as "hardcore" is, but how would you describe the sound of "post" hardcore bands, Michael? (Don't believe I've ever heard of either Hot Snakes or Drive Like Jehu, much less actually having heard any of their tunes; presume they're both Brit bands--like I gather you are?)

I think the bands were American as was Mr Froberg, but I must say have no knowledge of hardcore bands let alone 'post hardcore' bands :-)
