Bullshit. Pure unadulterated bullshit.

It wasn't until Peter Moylan posted that verizon.net is stil a valid
domain that I knew this. I knew that Verizon discontinued offering
email, but did not know that the domain passed to the current
provider.

I was wrong, and freely admit to being so.

Stop being an ass.

Since you love Jersey City so much., howcome you can't comprehend
that the microclimates -- and hence the temperature and rainfall --
differ considerably between The Heights, Downtown, and the South
Side / Greenville?

And that the reported conditions for the whole city depend on which
of the three microclimates the weather station is located in?

Did you notice that it didn't give you info for "Jersey City Heights"?
Thus your claim that it "defaults to [my] lpocation" is false. Even if
it worked by ZIP code, it would show that, since there is only one
post office for the entire Heights.

(which is not ".com" vs. "net." That was someone else's reflex.)

That is nothing but stupidity and ignorance and bad faith, based in
the bizarre assumption that I would have a reason for posting with
an email address that did not exist.

It's taken a week.

Phil Carmody is fairly new here. I hope his analysis will have demonstrated
to others that almost all the vitriol directed against me has been caused by
your (TonyCooper's) similar shenanigans on every conceivable topic.

Why am I being an ass? Your source uses the AccuWeather feed.

I routinely experience even more specific microclimate divergence. It
can be raining in the parking area in front of my condo, and not
raining in the area behind my condo. I have often been driving on a
highway and seen rain in front of me but my car is not yet being
rained on.

Good Lord, Petey! What do you expect? A weather report for the
immediate area surrounding your house?

If so, add an outside thermometer to your porch and stick your hand
out the window to see if it's raining. Wet your finger to determine
if the wind is blowing. While you're at the window look up to see if
it's cloudy or clear.

Your location, in that context, is the Jersey City area. No one
expects it to be any individual's location. The Yahoo! weather app
has "Change Location" on the page. Do you think that it should allow
you to change it to Greenville's microclimate because you are
personally in Greenville on an errand?

Is this the first time you've seen "location" to mean something other
than what's under your feet?

Some sites will accept "United States" or "North America" as your
location. Do any have "Jersey City Heights" as a drop-down location?

Many people in this group do use fake email addresses and have a
reason for it. The original Ken, for example, uses "invalid" as the
domain part of his address.

The presumed reason is that it stops people from harvesting email
addresses in order to send them spam and solicitations to share in
millions of dollars held by African concerns.

I have to modestly point out that I don't deserve credit for causing
all of the vitriol directed against you. You've done a yoeman's job
of causing that all on your own dating as far back as your
cross-posting presence from sci.lang.

I accept Phil's banishment of me to his Bad Person(TM) doghouse.

You know god damn well what I was saying.

If you don't, you are even more incredibly stupid than has been so
obvious all along.

You've done it again. You changed "almost all" to "all."

You are terminally dishonest.

On and off, I'd say I've been reading and occasionally posting for over
2 decades. A time when there were posts from Evan, Charles, Skitt,
Laura, Rey, Padraig, and many others - the field seems to have been
pared somewhat. I took some down-time in the last half-decade or so,
probably when I last moved, as you guys were just way too heavy
maintenance!
